How to Join Communities on PS5

Many PS4 owners know about the impending demise of Communities. Those that already have a PS5 are no doubt aware of the fact. The communities feature was one of the most popular features of the PS4, but Sony is now retiring them in favor of a new communication system. What’s so great about the PS5? The PlayStation Communities feature will let you connect with other PlayStation gamers and share your passion for gaming.

Discord

To start using Discord on PS5, first create an account on the Discord website or app. From there, select the “Connect Your Accounts” page and sign in with your PlayStation Network account. Select “Allow” to allow the application to access your PlayStation Network account. Once you’ve signed in, click “Allow” to connect your PlayStation Network account with Discord. You’ll be asked to enter your PlayStation Network username and password and confirm your permission.

In the meantime, PlayStation 4 and PS5 players can now connect with Discord communities. This feature is limited in scope, but it does show gaming activity. This feature is the result of a partnership between Discord and Sony, which was first announced in May 2018. The two companies say they’re looking forward to continuing this collaboration. However, the PlayStation Network isn’t the only place where Discord is expanding, and PlayStation accounts will not be integrated immediately.

PlayStation users can now start using Discord communities on PlayStation. After announcing a partnership with Sony more than eight months ago, the company is starting to roll out support for the PlayStation console. The update is expected to be available to users in the US and other countries soon. Users can link their PlayStation accounts to their Discord accounts, or manually link them. Discord has also recently been made available on PlayStation mobile devices. Those interested can sign up for a free trial.

PlayStation 5

If you’re an avid PS4 player, you’re probably looking for ways to join the communities on your new console. While the Communities feature is not included in the PlayStation 5, there are plenty of other features that serve the same purpose. Game hubs that feature community content, screen share and multitasking, and a gathering area known as Game Base are all excellent examples. But if you don’t use the Communities feature, don’t worry. Sony hasn’t announced whether Communities will be included in the new PS5.

If you’re not familiar with PlayStation Communities, you’ll want to read the patch notes before installing the feature. While the Community feature is still available on the PS4 and PlayStation App, it will soon be discontinued. In the meantime, users can still make use of messaging features on their devices. But you’ll have to remove some features, including ‘Private Community Creation’ and ‘Play Together’. While this may seem like a loss, you can still create parties and talk to friends through Party.

PlayStation Communities is one of the most popular features on the PlayStation 4 and was first introduced on the PS4 in 2015. Before the launch of the PS5, you could create a community with other players, make gaming parties, or recruit gaming sessions. However, Sony is no longer supporting the Communities on the PS4 mobile app. You can make a request on the PlayStation Community website. And if you want to keep using the Community feature, you can use the PlayStation Community mobile app to stay in touch with friends and colleagues.

PlayStation Communities

The PlayStation Communities feature was a groundbreaking addition in 2015 that allowed fans to stay within the PlayStation ecosystem and jump into the games together. Communities were organized by interest, with sub-groups within games. They were a great way to connect and build community, and essentially worked like Discord but without the ability to muffle notifications. The communities also served as a sort of digital hub for gamer friends. However, Sony’s decision to discontinue the feature has fans wondering if the move is worth it.

The PlayStation Communities feature was removed from the PS4 in March last year. The patch notes mention that the feature is being discontinued. It is unclear whether Communities will return on the new PS5 console, but users can continue to use messaging features on PS4 and PlayStation App. The ‘Play Together’ and ‘Private Community Creation’ features will be removed, but players can continue creating parties and chatting with their friends through Party. Although Sony has yet to mention a timeline for bringing the feature back, it is worth asking if Sony will ever make it available to PS5 owners.

PlayStation Communities is one of the many services offered by Sony for the PS4. While primarily focused on the PlayStation 4, users can join communities based on the region, game, and interests that they have. The service features hundreds of communities, but is severely limited by its low population. In addition, PlayStation Communities is designed to be useful for hardcore PlayStation players. Although this service isn’t for everyone, it’s a great way to connect with fellow fans of the popular gaming console.
