For those new to the Fate franchise, it can be difficult to know where to begin. If you are new to the series, I recommend starting with Fate/Zero and the Unlimited Blade Works. These games set the stage for the series’ Holy Grail Wars. Each Fate entry has a different Holy Grail War, though they are all loose derivatives of Zero. To learn more about these games, read on.

Fate/Stay Night

Fans of visual novels may recognize Fate/Stay Night are linked 2 from the series of the same name. The visual novel follows Shirou Emiya, the Master of Saber during the Fifth Holy Grail War. The game’s protagonist is a young orphan who is enchanted with black magic. Shirou feels inferior to her late sister, a woman named Sakura Matou. The game also features a male character named Saber, and a female character called Rin. While the plot is similar, Fate/Stay Night are connected 2 follows a completely different route.

The game is set ten years before the events of Fate/Stay Night. A great fire caused by a spilled Holy Grail causes a massive catastrophe. The Holy Grail is lost, but a young Shirou is rescued by Kiritsugu Emiya, who embeds Avalon within his body. Shirou, along with other characters, eventually learns that he is a magus, and that he was destined to have a special gift.

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works

If you are looking for a new anime series to enjoy, Fate/Stay Night: Unchained is a great choice. Its storyline is based on the visual novel of the same name by Type-Moon. Shirou Emiya is a high school student and amateur magus who becomes unexpectedly entangled in the Fifth Holy Grail War. In this war, seven people known as “Masters” and “Servants” compete to obtain the Holy Grail, an omnipotent magical chalice.

The visual novel series, Fate/Stay Night: Unchained, was adapted into the 2006 adaptation, and Unlimited Blade Works continues to build on that foundation. The series focuses on the strengths of Shirou’s ideals, as well as his shortcomings. In many ways, Fate/Stay Night: Unchained is much more satisfying than its 2006 counterpart.

Fate/Grand Order

The popular anime series Fate/Grand Order has a rich history that spans the decades. Its main characters are Ritsuka, a high school student, and her brother, Mash. The anime is an exciting journey into the world of Fate/Grand Order, which combines action, romance, and science fiction. It is set in a futuristic world where human civilization is under threat from the Seven Great Evils.

Though not technically connected to the game, both manga and anime are very similar in style and content. Fate/Grand Order is still a story-driven, multiplayer video game, though it is reliant on the original Apocrypha concept. Its main focus is still story progression, and the series is expected to continue with updates for at least two years. The manga also explores demons and is available for download from most major Japanese streaming services.

Fate/Apocrypha

There are several routes to the sequel. In this article, I’ll go over the three possible paths to Fate/stay Night. The first route is an anime adaptation made by Studio Deen, the second route is a movie adaptation from Unlimited Blade Works, and the third route is a ufotable. I’ll also briefly discuss why I’m excited for the sequel and what to expect.

The Fate/prototype series was originally written during high school. The Fate series characters were reimagined and remade in this visual novel. The system is very different from the original series, and the characters were gender-swapped. The sequel also includes some spin-off properties based on the F/SN setting. The visual novel series isn’t officially translated to English, but the spin-offs are often successful enough to be considered their own property.
