A Steel-type Pokemon is a formidable force, especially when it comes to raids and PvP battles. While most Steel-type Pokemon have excellent defensive options, they are also susceptible to Fire, Fighting, and Ground-type attacks. It’s vital that trainers target the weaknesses of these Pokemon to get the best results. However, they’re still weak to other types of moves, which is why trainers should learn about these weaknesses and develop strategies to counter them.

Water
Pokemon of the Steel type are among the most offensively-capable in the game. These Pokemon normally have Physical moves but may also have Special moves in recent generations. Because almost all of the Pokemon of this type are based on animals, their offensive abilities are quite varied. However, a few types of Steel Pokemon are more effective against Water than others. Here are some tips to help you decide which Steel moves will be most effective against your opponent’s water Pokemon.
If you are unsure of what type to choose, try using Pokemon with Water as its primary typing. It has an advantage over other types of Water in terms of damage output, and also a good defensive type. Water moves are weak against Steel, and the other types are weak against Water, such as Rock and Ground. The main disadvantage of Water is that all Water moves are considered special attacks. Therefore, if you choose a Steel type, you must be aware of the special moves it can learn.
Ice
When it comes to Pokémon, Steel type moves are more effective against Ice. Ice is extremely fragile and will easily shatter. Even things that you pour on it will dent or melt. For this reason, if you plan to use Steel type moves against Ice, you should choose them instead. But before we discuss this topic, let’s take a closer look at the differences between these two types. What makes one type better than the other?
Steel and Ice are very different types, but they both have some characteristics in common. Steel has a lot of speed and can punish the opponent’s movement with its strong Defense. In fact, some of Steel’s moves are so effective that you can even ignore your opponent’s special ability. On the other hand, the only way to make an Ice type move work is to have a strong evasive move.
Grass
Steel type moves are incredibly effective against grass. Steel attacks are effective against most types of grass and are effective against a variety of Pokémon, including Bulbasaur and Treecko. Steel is also effective against a variety of ground types, including grass, Bug, and Flying. Grass type moves also tend to be more effective against Fire, so use them sparingly. If you want to avoid having to use Steel against Grass, use moves that are based on other types.
Grass is a decent type. Its offensive abilities are good against Fire, Bug, and Water, and it’s weak against Electric and Rock. It also resists Ice, but is weak against Ground. Grass is a good type to have around, too. Its weaknesses are Rock, Electric, and Ground, and it’s immune to Leech Seed. Despite its weaknesses, Grass is a good type to have when you’re looking for a Pokémon to go up against.
Flying
Fire and Steel types have very interesting weaknesses and differences. While Fire and Steel types are very strong against flying, they do not resist each other. Despite this, they are good against a good number of other types as well. Luckily, Flying has a few interesting weaknesses as well. For starters, Steel moves cannot be burned or affected by Grass, but they do have some common weaknesses. Unlike other types, Flying does not benefit from airborne bonuses.
When training a Steel-type Pokemon, you can consider using Fairy moves. While the Steel moves won’t be super effective against Fairy, the ability to resist Fairy is very useful. The type coverage is great in a team with a fair amount of Fairy-type Pokemon. In addition to adding extra attacking options, Fairy also has no defensive drawbacks. Steel-type Pokemon pair well with Ground, as the weakness is on Water and Fire.
Dragon
The type matchup between Dragon and Steel is quite interesting. Dragons are weak against other Dragon types and weak against the Ice type. Because they are reptilian creatures, they are susceptible to cold temperatures and are therefore weak to Steel type moves. Historically, knights would wear steel armor to protect themselves from dragon attacks. Nowadays, however, the Dragon-type is a much more common opponent due to its power. Its strength lies in its ability to resist attacks from both Dragon and Steel types.
While Fire is good against all types, it is also weak against Ghost. While Ghost is weaker against Dragon, it is not as strong as Dragon. A Steel type move can also be effective against a Ghost type. Moreover, Ghost-types cannot be burned by Dragons. Although Fire and Steel types are common enemy types, they are better suited for each other. A Dragon’s weakness against Steel types is that they cannot be burned or shattered by any type.
