Did They Change James’ Voice in Pokémon?

Did they change James’ voice in Pokémon? The original voice of Pokedex was provided by Nicholas James Tate, but later in the first season, his voice was replaced by Eric Stuart. The episode “Who Gets to Keep Togepi?” explains the change. In the dub, Tate is replaced by Eric Stuart. This change has been a hot topic since the show’s release.

James Carter Cathcart

James Carter Cathcart is an American voice actor, vocalist, and script adaptor who provides the English voice for many of the Pokémon characters in the video games. He has been providing the English voice for these characters since 2005. A pianist and vocalist, James has a background in classical music and has performed with many famous musicians, including Paul McCartney, Jimmy Buffett, and John Williams.

As of August 2013, Cathcart has lent his voice to a variety of Pokemon series, including the Anime and the English dub. He has also performed live performances for the series and under various pseudonyms, such as Jimmy Zoppi and Billy Beach. He plays electric guitar, bass, and keyboards. Cathcart is the longest-serving voice actor of the Pokemon anime.

Eric Stuart

The actor Eric Stuart has performed in various TV shows and movies including Pokémon and the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. A Brooklyn native, Stuart has also voiced Brock, James, Kaiba, Gourry, and many other characters from the anime series. Many consider him to be a top voice talent in the industry and consider him a rival of Dan Green, who played the role of James in Pokemon. As an actor, Stuart also sings. His first band formed when he was fourteen years old. He learned how to play the guitar in the eighth grade and began writing songs by the time he graduated from high school.

James was originally voiced by James McAvoy, who also appeared in The Whistle Stop. Since the anime series is based on a manga, Stuart opted to change his voice to make it more appealing for young audiences. Although he is now a popular voice actor, he has not given up on the role of James. In fact, he is still looking for a chance to return to Pokemon.

Ted Lewis

Before he became the voice of James, Ed Paul was known as a television and film actor, and has worked in numerous animated series and movies. He was also a voice actor for the popular game, Pokémon. In addition to his work in Pokémon, Lewis has voiced several other characters, including the Announcer at Pokémon Stadium, Team Rocket boss Giovanni, and Tracey Sketchit. He also had a small role in the anime series Sonic the Hedgehog, where he voiced the character Nack the Weasel.

After the April 29, 2006, special, many fans of the series were horrified at the decision to change the voices. A poll at Bulbagarden.org found that just one fan favored the new voices while 17 disapproved. In addition, fifteen people hated the new voices, and thirty of them disapproved of the entire change. Some fans even began boycotting Pokemon USA merchandise after learning of the new voices. And the fans didn’t stop there. They wrote letters to the company, saying that they’d boycott the new show.

Tom Wayland

Did they change Tom Wayland’s voice to suit a new character? That’s a question that’s been plaguing the internet for years. The anime series, which was originally aired in Japan, has had several voice directors. Tom Wayland, who joined DuArt Film & Video after 4Kids Productions cancelled the anime series, served as voice director and ADR engineer. He was replaced by Theresa Buchheister in 2009, after his contract with 4Kids expired.

There’s no official answer yet, but a few actors have done voice acting gigs in recent years. In the anime series “Pokémon,” Tom Wayland played the role of Wenduag. He also starred in The Division: Hearts on Fire and Kingmaker. As for the video game voice acting, he played Captain John Price in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Other notable characters include Brittany Lauda, Jonah Scott, and Macy Anne Johnson.

Erica Schroeder

Despite her varied voice, there are few people who can’t tell that Schroeder is the voice behind a certain character. This American actress has been the voice behind more than a hundred characters. Her extensive voice-over resume includes appearances in several popular franchises, including Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, and Pokemon. This list is by no means exhaustive; Schroeder has voiced over sixty-five Pokemon.

In the first season of the series, Sarah played Misty’s older sister, Daisy. Later, she played Sabrina, Korrina, and Litten. The voice actor, James Carter Cathcart, also lent his voice to other roles in the series. His voice is a blend of English, Japanese, and Indian accents. The character has a voice that combines emotion and vocality, making it a unique choice for this series.

Megan Hollingshead

A former Voice Actor of the Pokemon anime franchise, Megan Hollingshead starred in the series as Nurse Joy and Cassidy before leaving the company to pursue a career in Hollywood. She returned to the franchise in Pokemon Journeys: The Series as the voice of Diane, and has continued to do voice acting in popular franchises such as Naruto, Bleach, and Tales of Symphonia. She has also voiced male characters.

Unlike other original Voice Actors of the Pokemon anime, Hollingshead’s return to the series comes amid controversy and speculation over a new character’s role in the new series. Hollingshead’s departure from the franchise in 2004 left other voice roles that needed to be recast. During the recasting process, 4Kids outbid TAJ Productions, which led to a new voice cast for the anime series.
