Draenei lore varies greatly from expansion to expansion, but it is always interesting to explore them and learn more about their history. Some Draenei are shamans. Some have mystical sigils on their foreheads. The sigils could be selectable during character creation or they could be a permanent feature on all Draenei. There is a lot of speculation as to whether the sigils are permanent or not.

Xe’ra

Xe’ra is an ancient Naaru, the first Naaru to be forged in the Great Dark Beyond. She was the first Naaru to possess the sentience core of Light, which contains the knowledge and wisdom of the world. As one of the six naaru, Xe’ra was a powerful and mystical force. As such, Xe’ra’s birth is a story in and of itself. In World of Warcraft, Xe’ra is one of the most important figures in draenei lore, and is one of the best known Naaru.

The draenei have revered Xe’ra for thousands of years. Xe’ra led their fight against the Legion on Xenedar, and after the draenei lost their home planet, she served as a beacon for them and a leader for them. However, the death of Xe’ra is controversial in that the draenei have not yet reacted to the news that Illidan killed their leader. Those lightforged, who were fanatics, did not seem to care much.

Xe’nor

The lore of the draenei goes back almost 13,000 years to the corruption of eredar. The burning crusade led to the draenei joining the Alliance and eventually the Horde. After that, their history has been fairly mysterious. But, there are some clues as to their origin. Let’s take a look at some of their major leaders and where they came from.

The story of Xe’ra begins when her father, the Void Lord Xe’nor, tries to kill Alleria to protect her son, Lothraxion. While they are on the run, they find a mysterious object that turns out to be the sentience core of the prime Naaru Xe’ra. The two begin a mission together, and they eventually succeed. They also discover a new elemental creature – the Xe’nor.

Xe’ra’s departure

Xe’ra, the mother of light, was a prime naaru who was forged in the great ordering of the cosmos. She led the spearhead against the Burning Legion for millennia. During the third invasion of the Legion, she sent her core to Azeroth. Then, she died when Illidan rejected her, and now she resides in the Argus region. Xe’ra’s departure in World of Warcraft draenei lore has several implications.

One explanation is that Xe’ra left the Lightforged behind to go war with the Draenei. Another explanation is that she traveled with the Draenei after being awakened by the Tear of Elune. But many points between Sha’tar Naaru and Xe’ra’s departure in World of Warcraft draenei lore are contradictory. In addition, Xe’ra may not have left the Lightforged with her, as her story has been told by the Sha’tar Naaru.

Xe’nor’s relationship with Illidan Stormrage

Xe’nor’s relationship to Illidan Stormrage is complicated in World of Warcraft. The relationship between Xe’nor and Illidan Stormrage was initially strained due to a dispute between the two brothers. However, the relationship between the two men became much more amicable once Illidan returned to his home of the Night Elves. The two brothers were once enemies, but that was all about to change when Illidan returned to his home of the Night Elves. Xe’nor’s love for Illidan was not reciprocated, but their desire to protect the lands was clear.

While playing World of Warcraft, Xe’nor was fascinated by Illidan and the lore of the dreadlord. He was once a prisoner of the Legion, and later sought to rule the continent of Outland with the help of former members of the Legion. He eventually encountered a champion of the Lich King named Arthas Menethil. Arthas Menethil tricked Illidan into seeking a powerful artifact, the Gul’dan skull. Arthas Menethil claimed that destroying the skull would put an end to the Felwood corruption, but Illidan seized its power and destroyed the skull. Both Tyrande and Malfurion were horrified by what Illidan had done.

Xe’nor’s relationship with Xe’ra

Xe’ra is an important figure in the World of Warcraft draenei legendarium. She serves as the avatar of Light and rage. However, her blindness prevents her from realizing the purpose of her existence. This is the reason why she lashes out in a destructive manner against Alleria. She is ultimately saved by Turalyon, a servant of the Light.

Although Velen has not yet encountered a prime naaru, she presumes that she is a child of Elune. This is further supported by the fact that Xe’ra was one of the first naaru to enter the world. The two are not identical, however, and Velen has a similar story in which Elune assaults a prime naaru.

Xe’nor’s relationship with Xe’nor

In World of Warcraft, the draenei were introduced with the Burning Crusade expansion. In the ensuing expansions, a new race emerged: the corrupted draenei. The Lost Ones and Broken were introduced, and alternate Draenor play a key role in World of Warcraft draenei lore.

Velen became a sort of religious leader, becoming part of the Second Duumvirate. In a manner similar to the Pope, Velen was allowed to become Pontifix Maximus, a role that is traditionally reserved for the Holy See. Additionally, Draenei architecture has many similarities to the aesthetics of the Burning Crusade. The Temple of Karabor, for instance, resembles the ancient Hebrew Temple and the Kaaba in Mecca.
