How I Met Your Mother – Star Wars References

How I Met Your Mother has had a number of Star Wars references throughout the show, ranging from a drawing of topless Princess Leia by Ted to Lily dressing up as Darth Vader. The main characters even watch the original trilogy once every three years! And you can’t forget the famous line, “Eighth century, we must be a part of something great.”

Ted Mosby

In Season Eight, “P.S. I Love You”, Ted meets Jeanette Peterson, who is reading the same book he is. Later, it is revealed that Jeanette is obsessed with Ted and has even set fire to the lecture hall that he is scheduled to teach. However, Ted ignores her warning signs of stalking and continues to pursue her. This episode is also notable for introducing the second child of Ted and Tracy, Luke.

Cobie Smulders

The actress, who has played several memorable characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is no stranger to the hilarity of the movie and television world. Since her early days on The Simpsons, Cobie has been a fixture of the comic book universe. She has played a number of roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, from The Black Widow to the Iron Man movies.

Carter Bays

The Star Wars franchise has been the subject of several references on the TV show “How I Met Your Mother.” The series’ main character, Ted Mosby, is a big fan of the first three films, especially A New Hope, and has threatened to break up with his fiance Stella if she didn’t like it. Ted and his friends also like Star Wars and watch the original trilogy about every three years. One episode of the show references this obsession with Star Wars with an Ewok Line joke.

Craig Thomas

The show’s creator and co-creator Craig Thomas is an actor with a varied career. He is a former member of the band The Solids and appeared on the late night talk show The Late Show With David Letterman. Thomas also played a fake paramedic in the 2008 movie Milk. He is also a survivor of a shooting at LAX airport. The show has received a lot of praise for its portrayal of Marshall and Lily.

Barney’s Boba Fett costume

One of the most famous costumes on the show is Barney’s Boba Fett outfit from the Star Wars movie franchise. The episode depicts the young nerd as a masked bounty hunter. This costume was inspired by the movie. It was a big hit with the cast, especially Ted, who wore the costume himself. But Ted quickly realized that he would never be able to pull it off without his mates’ help.

Roger Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon

You may have seen Richard Donner as the gangster in Lethal Weapon, but have you seen him in a recent episode of How I Met Your Mother? He plays a character named Roger Murtaugh, who has been in three movies since the franchise started in 1991. The series has become an unexpected hit for Fox, which revived it in 2016. The movie was a surprise hit, but was marred by real-life drama.

Ewoks

In Star Wars: How I Met Your Mother, the small furry race of Ewoks was introduced to the public by Neil Patrick Harris’s character, Barney Stinson. The Ewoks, which are similar to droids, are polar opposites, dividing fans and haters alike. While the film largely follows the characters’ adventures on the forest moon of Endor, it also depicts the Ewoks as characters that may not be a part of Star Wars.
