Defending Nordrassil

Defending Nordrassil is a great way to show your allegiance to the Alliance and Horde, which have joined forces to fight the Legion. The campaign takes place in the historical region of Hyjal, where you will be able to complete a series of important missions alongside some of Azeroth’s greatest heroes. However, you will need to be wary of an ancient rivalry that threatens to derail your campaign against the Deathwing.

Origins

The Origins of Nordrassil in World Of Warcraft tell the story of the original World Tree planted on Mount Hyjal by night elves. This tree was blessed by the Dragon Aspects to grant immortality to night elves, and to allow druids to enter the Emerald Dream. Its power was unleashed during the Battle of Mount Hyjal, but it was partially regrown during the Cataclysm.

Mount Hyjal is a massive summit in Kalimdor. Here, the World Tree, known as Nordrassil, is regrowing. It is located on the second Well of Eternity, and the battle that ended the Third War took place on the summit. Dragons protect the World Tree and keep the Scourge and Legion from reaching the Well of Eternity. The summit also offers panoramic views of the Ashenvale, Winterspring, and Felwood.

When the Cataclysm expansion came, the world’s power was tested, and Nordrassil was weakened and under threat. The Firelord Ragnaros, under the direction of Deathwing, sought to destroy the region, stealing the night elves’ immortality. The druidic defense of Nordrassil was led by Malfurion Stormrage and Cenarius. Alliance and Horde heroes then ventured into the Firelands raid instance to face Firelord Ragnaros.

Location

The first tree to grow in the World of Warcraft was the Nordrassil. The name means “crown of the heavens” in the night elf language. The tree was grown from the acorn of a lost Mother Tree by the great dragon Alexstrasza in the newly reborn Well of Eternity on the sacred Mount Hyjal. The tree is a symbol of life and immortality and represents the rebirth of the world.

The second World Tree in the game is the Yggdrasil. It can be found on the island of the same name in northern Kalimdor. It is the only remaining world tree. Archdruid Fandral Staghelm attempted to restore night elves to their immortality and eventually succeeded, but the destruction of Nordrassil caused their immortality to disappear. In the World of Warcraft, there are only a few remaining trees in the game.

The World Tree in World of Warcraft is located on Mount Hyjal, a massive summit in Kalimdor. On this mountain, the World Tree known as Nordrassil is regrowing. The mountain is also home to the second Well of Eternity, which was the final battle of the Third War. Dragons guard the World Tree and prevent the Burning Legion from reaching it. Players can enjoy the majestic views of Felwood, Ashenvale, and Winterspring while exploring this mountain.
