Genin
Although Genins are not considered higher than Jounin, they have their own ranks. They are assigned to higher level missions by their Jounin commanders. They must work together as a team, not alone. The highest rank is Kage, which means Naruto is considered Kage. Genins have ranks according to their abilities, though. In the anime, a Genin can become Kage by passing a test administered by a Jounin.
The Genin rank is the lowest of the Ninja hierarchy, displaying the greatest variation in power. A Genin typically begins his training by working for the village’s economy. These missions are low-risk manual labor. Later, an experienced genin is sent on C-rank missions, which are above Genin missions and start to involve more ninja work. They are a cut above D-rank missions and are usually the lowest-rank ninjas.
Jounin
The first rank in the Ninja Jounin is Genin, which represents the lower rank of ninja. Genins are given headbands bearing the symbol of their village and are assigned to a team of three men. Their Sensei is called Jonin, who is a highly-skilled elite ninja. These ninjas perform assassinations and research. They often fill traditional roles in their village, but sometimes even perform espionage in enemy territory.
There are two levels of Ninja Jounin, Chuunin and Special. Chuunin are the basic journeyman ninja in the village and can be field doctors and teachers. Chuunin, once Genin, are promoted to Chuunin because of their superior strategy, combat skills and intelligence. Chuunin are equivalent to military captains and have tremendous stamina. Special Jounin are highly-skilled and trained ninja with high Jounin levels. These ninja are capable of torture and interrogation.
Chunin
The ninja rank Chunin is a higher rank than a Genin. They have more options to specialize in than Genin, but they must still take a mandatory aptitude test and complete a course called Basic Ninja Villages. Chunin can also take two promotion tests: the Special Jounin test, which recognizes special abilities and grants them the special rank of Special Jounin. To pass this test, a Chunin must have B-rank skills and a special ability.

S-class
When it comes to the S-class ninja ranks, it is difficult to get A rank. Ninja of this rank are mostly noted in a Bingo book. Every ninja village provides one for the players. There are many ways to get the S-class ninja ranks, but most ninja will choose to flee. However, it is difficult to get A rank with a D Tier build.
While the S-class ranks are the highest of the ninja ranks, it is not uncommon for a ninja to earn it through killing an entire clan. In 8 hours, he could take down a hundred to four hundred people. Minato is said to have defeated 1000 iwa-nin. Sasori was said to have defeated a small nation by himself. The level of a certain ninja also affects the skills of another ninja.
Missing-nin
The term Missing-ninja refers to ninja who have left their Hidden Village and are not yet at their full ninja level. These ninja can be any rank but usually are at least B-rank. Regardless of rank, missing ninja are considered traitors, and they are hunted and killed for their secrets, which are useful to the other Hidden Villages. To combat these ninja, villages will create special units to hunt them down. Some of the most popular examples of missing ninja are Sasuke Uchiha, Orochimaru, and Kabuto Yakushi.
One of the major problems of the missing-nin is that they have no one to rely on. The missing-nin’s village no longer trusts them, and their former allies will look down on them. Since they are a rogue nin, they may be forced to go it alone, which is not ideal for their mission. However, they might still wear their village’s forehead protector to remain undetected. However, if they are not found, they will most likely meet up with disreputable people, and the village will not trust them.
