Attractions
Adventure Island is a water park in northeast Tampa, Florida. It is located across the street from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and features 30 acres of water rides, dining, and attractions. At Adventure Island, you can ride the ominous-sounding Colossal Curl, a side-by-side raft ride. The ride reaches speeds of 30 mph and is 50 feet tall. You can also ride the 400-foot-long Calypso Coaster, which reaches 34 mph and requires a height of 49 inches. Another popular water ride at Adventure Island is the Wild Waves.
Attractions in Tampa Bay
When visiting Tampa Bay, you may not be sure exactly what you will want to see and do. This huge natural harbor and shallow estuary is connected to the Gulf of Mexico and lies on the west-central coast of Florida. Hillsborough Bay, McKay Bay, Old Tampa Bay, Middle Tampa, and Lower are all part of Tampa Bay. You can take a boat ride on Hillsborough Bay, and visit the Tampa Bay Aquarium.
If you enjoy the artistic side of life, Tampa Bay has many museums to offer. There’s the Dali Museum in downtown St. Petersburg, which features more than 90 works by the internationally-renowned artist. The Dali Museum also features yoga classes and architecture tours. Performing arts are also plentiful in Tampa Bay, and the Tampa Theatre is a must-see. The historic venue was rescued from demolition in the 1970s and features a thriving cultural scene.
Attractions in Orlando
Aquatica Orlando is themed to the southern Pacific, with Australian and New Zealand mascots. The park features two wave pools, a man-made beach, and body/mat slides. There’s also a children’s area, along with a Conservation Cabana. If you’re looking for something a little more extreme, try Ihu’s Breakaway Falls.
A day at Aquatica Orlando can include thrilling rides and close animal encounters. The park also has a lazy river and heated water. Guests can also ride the KareKare Curl, a weightless adventure. Guests can also relax on rafts and tubes at Omaka Rocka and Walhalla Wave, or compete against one another on the Taumata Racer.
