Can Emiya Trace Excalibur?

Whether Shirou can trace Excalibur remains a mystery. There are several theories on the matter. One theory claims that the excalibur is made of non-divine materials. Another theory suggests that a chain that connects non-divine beings can recreate Excalibur. In a third theory, Shirou can recreate Excalibur using a calad bolgII. Despite its limitations, some theories do have some merit.

emiya can trace excalibur

The sword EMIYA can trace in Fate Extra is the Excalibur, a blade of similar nature. It is said to be a “last phantasm” and a crystallization of mankind’s desires. Emiya can trace Excalibur with her powers, but she cannot duplicate the blade itself, nor can she recreate the base materials used to make Enuma Elish.

Emiya, Shirou, was a normal boy until thirteen years ago. After the city burned, he and his adopted brother, Kiritsugu, were the only survivors. The boy wished to become a superhero and prevent the city from burning down again. However, he became entangled in the Holy Grail war and is now a vigilante himself. He learns about the history of the Holy Grail and traces it back to the time he was a child.

calad bolgII can recreate excalibur

This UBW character can recreate any weapon he holds, but his affinity is swords. Each copy of a weapon is a lower rank than its original, so higher-rank weapons require more mana. Despite this, the character claims to be able to recreate Excalibur, although this would be a suicidal attack. The weapon’s abilities are dependent on the magical energy of the master.

enkidu is a chain to non-divine beings

In the anime, the character Enkidu is a servant of the gods and possesses the power of transformation. It can be transformed into chains that restrain anything she wishes to control. When activated, this spell is a powerful barrier against non-divine creatures. But the power of transformation is only limited by the strength of the bonds holding Enkidu in place. The chains also make it easy for her to change into a new Divine Construct, which is most commonly seen as a giant golden chain covered in colorful flame.

The goddess Enkidu is also a very powerful being. She is an important part of the Enkidu legend. As a goddess, she is the mother of the gods, but she despises men and is known to have killed all of the males in Uruk when she became the ruler of the city. Enkidu did not intend to kill everyone, but she did it to prevent them from removing her from power. She also preferred the female form, and allowed the women to enter her domain.

Shirou doesn’t need to project excalibur in UBW

In UBW, Shirou doesn’t need to trace Excalibur because it already has a projector and seems to be projected in the game. There’s no need to project the chain because it isn’t powerful enough to break Enkidu’s chains. And it doesn’t seem that Enkidu would have enough Prana to break Shirou’s chain anyway.

However, he could have traced Excalibur and destroyed the Greater Grail using it, if that’s what Archer intended. But it wouldn’t have made a lot of sense and wouldn’t fit into EMIYA’s MO. And it doesn’t make sense for Shirou or Archer to have to trace Excalibur. So, what if Shirou didn’t have the requisite knowledge to make the decision?

Arturia’s copy of excalibur isn’t a proper copy of excalibur

Although it’s a well-known myth that the legendary sword Avalon and Excalibur are the same, these two items are actually separate. The former makes Arturia extremely vulnerable, and she cannot survive the Battle of Camlann unless she has both. Fortunately, her copy of Excalibur is much more powerful than Avalon. In addition to being invincible, it can tank any attack.

The Excalibur is the ultimate god-forged weapon, and is guarded by the Fairies. In NetHack, Arturia briefly obtained the Excalibur when the Lady of the Lake resurrected her. Unlike her destroyed Caliburn, the Excalibur also has a sheath, providing partial immortality and converting prana into light. In addition, its special ability to intensify kinetic energy allows it to be used as an “ultimate killing technique.”
