A quest in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim can only be completed if you possess the elden ring. In this guide, we’ll go over how to get to the River of Rot, defeat Astel, and use Marika’s Scarseal Talisman. We’ll also cover how to preserve Boluses so you can avoid the dreaded Scarlet Rot.

Lake of Rot
First, you need to travel to the southeast corner of Lake of Rot, and there’s a building that you can enter there. It has a path that goes across the pillars, and there are basilisks nearby. Aside from that, you can also get a Somber Smithing Stone and an Alabaster Lord’s Sword from the corpse at the top of the ruins.
You’ll need a few items to survive the Lake of Rot, including Preserving Boluses, which are required to cure the scarlet rot status effect. These items must be used repeatedly to cure the scarlet rot status effect. To boost your immunity, you can spam HP flasks as well. You can also spam preservative boluses to get immunity boosts.
Defeat Astel
Defeat Astel in the Lake of Rot to unlock Ranni’s questline. Astel is an overly aggressive Malformed Star with many powerful moves. To defeat him, you must first cross the underground Ainsel River and then find a coffin near a waterfall. Once there, ride down in the coffin to reach the boss arena. You should prepare yourself for a long fight.
You can’t get too far into Astel’s fight if you do not know how to avoid his attacks. The first of his attacks is the overhead Nebula swipe. This is an excellent opportunity to dodge Astel’s follow-up attacks. Beware of Astel’s attacks – they can be devastating. Be sure to keep yourself well-rested and use your magic abilities to avoid the encroaching Nebula.
Using Marika’s Scarseal Talisman
There are three ways to obtain the Scarseal Talisman in the game: underground catacombs, Mt. Gelmir, or the Ainsel River Main. The underground catacombs are located near pillars, Beastmen, and Jellyfish specters. If you find the Jellyfish talisman, you will get a few benefits. These abilities will increase your robustness, immunity, and focus. In addition, you can also use the Scarseal Talisman in the quests for a chest and the rewards that are attached to it.
If you don’t have the talisman yet, you can always buy it from Twin Maiden Husks and equip it to go to the Crumbling Farum Azula. To get to this chest, go down the bridge opposite of the direction of the bosses. In the game, you must also remember that you can’t get the Talisman from the craters, but you can get it from the chest.
Preserving Boluses
In Elden Ring, you can cure yourself of Scarlet Rot by consuming Preserving Boluses. This recipe can be found in different places, including Lake of Rot, Elden Ring, and Gold Firefly. Preserving Boluses are potions used to heal your body against the effects of Scarlet Rot, which is an extremely harmful status affliction. Preserving Boluses can also be used as a means of preventing Scarlet Rot buildup.
You can also craft Preserving Boluses to heal yourself from scarlet rot, a disease that slowly consumes your HP. To get these potions, you can visit the Nomadic Merchant in Caelid. To craft them, you must have the Armorer’s Cookbook. It can also be found in the Mistwoods district. By gathering these ingredients, you can produce a large number of Preserving Boluses.
Getting to a site of grace
The first step is to reach the lake of rot. The lake is located in the lair of the ogre god, Blaidd. From there, head to the right and head to the giant doorway. Then, head down the nearby ledges. You’ll find a group of centipede pests. Afterward, wait in a stone coffin by the waterfall.
Next, head westward. A large section of pillars will rise up. You’ll follow it to the far side. When you reach the far side, you’ll find two torches at the base of large statues. Next, you’ll find the next site of grace. Afterwards, head south, and use the teleportation spell. You’ll need to reach the shoreside site of Grace to complete the quest.
