Defeat Malenia
Defeat Malenia to gain access to the Haligtree and the legendary gem. This boss is located at the bottom of Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree, just down the stairs from the Haligtree Roots site of grace. Malenia’s defenses do not change during her different phases, but her attacks are aggressive in the 2nd phase. She can be riposted on every third parry, and she can be weakened by a critical attack.
When facing Malenia, you should use a ranged attack, such as Ashes of War. You should also use a potent ranged spell on her during her healing period. A good ranged spell to use in this instance is Comet Azur. Patience is the key to defeating Malenia. Wait for her to make her first attacks, and then bait her with your attacks. Try to avoid jumping in too early for damage.
Defeat Elphael
The first step to get to the secret path to Miquella’s Haligtre and Loretta’s Prayer Room is to defeat Elphael in the Evergaol version of the town. Once you defeat Elphael, he will be killed and the teleporter will take you to Miquella’s Haligtree. Once you’ve defeated Elphael, you’ll need to fight Malenia, the blade of Miquella.
Defeat Elphael and you’ll be able to enter Miquella’s Haligtree, a legendary armory location. In order to reach this location, you need to have a level of 40 or more and be able to defeat the boss. You must defeat Elphael to reach the portal, which is located in the western part of the Elden Ring.
