If you have a second controller, you can use this to switch to Halo multiplayer. You simply press the menu button on your second controller and select the game mode you want to play. Halo games all have co-op options, which enable two people to play together, either in the campaign or in dedicated co-op modes. Depending on your settings, it can be as simple as playing a campaign mode or a multiplayer mode.

Split-screen in Halo Infinite
One thing Halo Infinite has missing is split-screen multiplayer. It is not confirmed if this feature will be supported for the PC or Xbox 360 versions of the game, but it is a must for many gamers. Currently, it is only available for Xbox, and won’t be able to support split-screen play across all platforms at launch. However, 343 Industries has confirmed that it will support local multiplayer for up to 24 players.
When it comes to Halo Infinite multiplayer, this mode isn’t present yet, but it is planned to be included in future updates. It is not possible to split-screen play on Xbox 360 yet, so you’ll need to use multiple Xbox accounts if you want to play with friends. If the feature is added in the future, it should be available for the PC version as well.
Co-op in Halo 2
Halo co-op allows players to become extremely strategic, with a variety of tactical options available. In the campaign missions, players stand back to back, with their sight lines and areas of effect clear. In Halo co-op, the player’s position in the room can also affect the strategic options that are available. However, this flexibility can also pose some problems for newcomers to co-op.
Multiplayer mode has already been introduced in Halo 3 and 4; players have asked if Halo 2 would also get it. Community support coordinator Tyler Davis and senior software engineer Sean Cooper both admit to liking the idea, but it’s not a priority. The developers are focused on other upgrades, like fixing bugs in multiplayer, as well as improving stability in co-op sessions. If you’re looking to play a game with your friends, co-op in Halo 2 is an excellent choice.
Co-op in Halo 3
Xbox LIVE allows you to play multiplayer with other players around the world, including in Halo 3. In addition, it lets you create your own maps and games, and allows you to play locally with up to four players. In Halo 3 you can also play split-screen with up to four players. You will need two Xbox 360 controllers to play cooperatively, but you can play locally with one controller and four on Xbox Live.
For online co-op, you can either use System Link or Xbox Live Gold to play with other people. If you don’t have Xbox Live Gold, you can join another gamer’s Xbox 360. In Halo 3, you can play split-screen with other people, but you must also have a TV to play the game on. The Xbox 360 version of the game also requires an Internet connection. Regardless of whether you want to play online with friends or not, it’s a great way to meet new people.
Co-op in Halo 4
Halo 4 has co-op features designed for up to four players. During a co-op game, two players control identical ODSTs. If you die while playing, you can respawn and join the game again. This mode is supported during online and local multiplayer. The maximum number of players for splitscreen is two, but four players are supported in Halo Infinite. There are some differences between online and local co-op play.
While Halo 4’s competitive multiplayer features are still the highlight of the game, there is also co-op that is equally compelling. There are a number of new co-op missions added weekly and there are four playable Spartans to choose from. There’s a great balance between competitive and cooperative modes that make the game addictive. There are some great co-op missions, but it’s hard to beat the quality of the solo campaign.
Co-op in Halo 5
Halo 5 features both co-op and solo campaign modes. Both modes support four Spartans at any one time. You can choose to play as Master Chief or Agent Locke, and then you can pick an AI co-op buddy to play with. You will be assigned to play together on the same map. Using co-op will make the game even more fun! In Halo 5 you can join a game online to play with friends or make new friends.
Although split screen co-op has been a popular feature in the Halo franchise, it won’t be available in Halo 5. This is a major disappointment for many Halo fans, especially those who have fond memories of the game’s split-screen co-op. However, this will not be the end of the world. Microsoft executives have hinted that split-screen co-op will return to Halo in the future, and are working on it.
