Grand Lift of Rold
The Grand Lift of Rold is the gateway to the Mountaintop of the Giants, a late-game location in Elden Ring. Players will need the Rold Medallion and Haligtree Secret Medallion to enter this region. Once there, they’ll find many side quests and difficult bosses. While the main questlines are important to completing the Grand Lift, it’s also nice to do optional bosses as they provide lucrative rewards.
To unlock the Grand Lift of Rold, you must defeat Morgott and two shardbearers. Morgott has blocked the path to Erdtree, so you need to defeat him to gain access to the Royal Capital. Once you’ve defeated Morgott, Melina will give you the Rold Medallion, which you’ll need to use the Grand Lift of Rold. You can reach the Grand Lift by exiting east from Leyndell and using the elevator to the Forbidden Lands.
Getting to the Mountaintops of the Giants
To advance in the Elden Ring, you must obtain the Rold Medallion and the Dectus Medallion. Both medallions grant access to the Altus Plateau and the Grand Lift of Rold respectively. Once you obtain these medallions, you will be able to access the Mountaintops of the Giants and the impending dangers that await you there.
The Grand Lift of Rold is located to the east of Leyndell. You can activate it by using the Rold Medallion that Melina gives you after you defeat Morgott, The Omen King. When you reach this location, you will need the Erdtree and the Rold Medallion to enter the Grand Lift of Rold and get to the Mountaintops of the Giants.
Getting to the Mountaintops of the Gigantic (West) region of the Old Elden Ring starts with an interesting questline. You can complete this quest line in any order you wish. The dungeons have various enemies and treasure. To get started, you can talk to friendly NPCs to purchase items. You can then move on to the next area in Mountaintops of the Giants.
Getting to the Haligtree Secret Medallion
The first step in obtaining the Haligtree Secret Medallion is to travel to the Lakeside Crystal Cave and defeat the boss. When you reach the site of Grace, you will see a spectre kneeling next to the left half of the medallion. Once you defeat the spectre, you will have two choices: either fast travel to the Site of Grace, or proceed to the Grand Lift of Rold.
There are two ways to get this secret medallion in Elden Ring. You can either get both pieces of the medallion, or you can just collect one piece of the medallion and use it to unlock two areas at once. The first half of the medallion will take you to the Consecrated Snowfield, while the second part will take you to the Haligtree. Once you find the second half, you will be able to hoist the Haligtree Medallion in the Grand Lift of Rold.
Getting to the Consecrated Snowfield
Getting to the Consecrated Snowfield in Old Elden Ring requires a couple of things. First of all, you must have Haligtree’s Hidden Locket. Then, you must find the two halves of Rold’s Great Elevator. This can be done by exploiting some glitches and exploits. But these methods are not as reliable as you might think. For the first step, you should head to Miquella’s Haligtree, a giant dungeon in a treetop town. This will give you access to the Haligtree’s root dungeon and the Roots, the hardest boss in the game.
Once you’ve defeated Commander Niall, you can go to the Grand Lift of Rold. From here, you need to travel to the Forbidden Lands. Once there, you’ll need to climb the stairs and hoist a secret medallion. This medallion will unlock the Consecrated Snowfield, as well as the Mountaintops of the Giants. It takes around three hours to complete the quest, so be sure to plan accordingly!
