During our Animal Crossing New Horizons playtest, we learned that many players were eager to share islands with other players. One player named Lukas had even begun to decorate his side of the island with gnomes and a custom gnome wallpaper. It is also worth noting that Corum is looking into the possibility of creating a neutral zone where players could share shops. While we were unsure of what exactly we would do, we found dozens of players who were excited to share an island with their friends. The only question that remained was: how to set up boundaries for each other?

Single-player transfer

Single-player transfer to have more than one animal crossing island is possible if you own more than one Switch system. You can transfer your character to a different Nintendo Switch system, but you can’t use the same character as the one you created when you set up the game. You can only move your character if you have two different Switch systems and can access both save files. Then you can play on both devices. If you lose your first Switch, you can’t recover your islands, but you can use this feature to move to another.

Another useful feature in Animal Crossing New Horizons is the ability to transfer your entire island to another Nintendo Switch system. This feature lets you transfer your home and most of your items, except for the animal representatives. If you have more than one Switch system, this feature is especially useful for you. Resident Representative role

Once the process is complete, your new console will be ready to play.

First, ensure that you have local wireless communication on both consoles. Make sure that the new system has Animal Crossing New Horizons installed. Then, go into the Animal Crossing New Horizons game and make the transfer. When you’ve transferred your game to your new system, you’ll be notified via the Tom Nook that your resident has been transferred. You’ll see the target name and island, as well as a message stating you’ve transferred to a new island.

Avoiding creepy crawlies
