During our Animal Crossing New Horizons playtest, we learned that many players were eager to share islands with other players. One player named Lukas had even begun to decorate his side of the island with gnomes and a custom gnome wallpaper. It is also worth noting that Corum is looking into the possibility of creating a neutral zone where players could share shops. While we were unsure of what exactly we would do, we found dozens of players who were excited to share an island with their friends. The only question that remained was: how to set up boundaries for each other?

Single-player transfer
Single-player transfer to have more than one animal crossing island is possible if you own more than one Switch system. You can transfer your character to a different Nintendo Switch system, but you can’t use the same character as the one you created when you set up the game. You can only move your character if you have two different Switch systems and can access both save files. Then you can play on both devices. If you lose your first Switch, you can’t recover your islands, but you can use this feature to move to another.
Another useful feature in Animal Crossing New Horizons is the ability to transfer your entire island to another Nintendo Switch system. This feature lets you transfer your home and most of your items, except for the animal representatives. If you have more than one Switch system, this feature is especially useful for you. You can transfer your progress and customizations to the new system and still have access to both. The new system will transfer your saved data from the original system.
Resident Representative role
When having more than one island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you must be the first player to select the Resident Representative role. When this role is assigned, other players cannot complete tasks for you. You must choose this role before playing the game to avoid confusion. Also, once you have chosen your Resident Representative, you cannot change it. You must start the game anew if you wish to change it.
To switch over between multiple islands, you must delete the first character and resave the game. This role is important since you can not transfer it to another island or player profile. The Resident Representative role belongs to the first player account and will always be associated with more permissions. To delete save data, go to the Switch’s Home Menu and choose the System Settings option. Then, select Delete save data.
Creating a second villager
If you’re stuck on the first island and want to create a second villager, here are a few tips. First, you need to create a plot of land on the island. Then, talk to villagers to bring them to the campsite. If you have more than 10 villagers, you’ll have to spend more time with them. They will often ask you to play a game called Red or Black. Once you’ve completed the game, you’ll have another villager to talk to.
Creating a second villager in Island Animal Crossing: New Horizons begins with two villagers, but you can add up to three more with a reset. The first one will be a female “uchi,” while the second will be a male “jock.” You can also choose to reset the game and try different starting villagers. However, keep in mind that villagers are always randomly selected from the uchi and jock pools, so you might want to reset the game so you can try a different villager. It’s also important to remember that the time of day is based around the tasks you’re currently undertaking. The actual real time is not set until after you finish a segment.
Adding more players
Adding more players to an island is possible in Animal Crossing New Horizons, a game for the Nintendo Switch. While you can share the same island with other players, the additional player must begin the game with their own user account. This allows the player to progress in the game but won’t allow them to complete required story goals. The additional player will simply enjoy the sandbox experience. Here are some ways to add more players to your island.
First, select ‘New User’. You can name the new user as whatever you like. Then, select a new Nintendo Account and set up a username and a nickname for the user. If you’re not familiar with Nintendo Accounts, you can read more about them in this guide. Once you have two or more players on your island, they can interact with each other by exchanging items and fruit, visiting each other’s stores, and talking with the villagers.
Transferring an island
You’ve decided to transfer an island, but how can you get it to your new console? You have two options: transfer the entire island, or just the saved game data. Then, you need to confirm your action. After confirming, your new system will start detecting your save data and automatically transfer it over. Follow the steps below to transfer your save data. Once the process is complete, your new console will be ready to play.
First, ensure that you have local wireless communication on both consoles. Make sure that the new system has Animal Crossing New Horizons installed. Then, go into the Animal Crossing New Horizons game and make the transfer. When you’ve transferred your game to your new system, you’ll be notified via the Tom Nook that your resident has been transferred. You’ll see the target name and island, as well as a message stating you’ve transferred to a new island.
Avoiding creepy crawlies
When having more than one island animal crossing, avoiding creepy crawlies becomes a top priority. Some are common, but some are not. Ants and stink bugs are particularly troublesome, as they can sting players and take up valuable island space. You should avoid catching these creatures by running from one side of the island to the other. In addition, be sure to stay away from the black rocky shores, as these are the homes of Wharf Roaches.
In Animal Crossing New Horizons, you must be careful not to squish or stab any of the creepy crawlies. You can use your net to capture them, but you must be very careful not to hit the bugs. Most bugs appear as you scurry around the island, but some may only be visible by shaking the tree. You must be cautious, though, because they will jump out when you run too close to them. To prepare your net, press A, then release the button when you are within a bug’s reach.
