If you love Star Wars, you can make your own paper lightsaber. You can follow these simple steps to make a lightsaber like Darth Vader or Chewbacca. All you need is a large roll of wrapping paper and scotch tape to attach it to the handle. You must first print the wrapping paper of your desired color, otherwise, the colors will not blend together and ruin the look of the lightsaber. Then, spiral the wrapping paper around the roll, and tape it together. Alternatively, you can cut an aluminum foil roll into a handle shape.

Darth Vader’s lightsaber

To make a lightsaber like Darth Vader, you need a flashlight and a piece of paper. The flashlight should be white so you can see it clearly. Cut a rectangular piece of colored paper and adhere it to the flashlight. Now you can paint it red. You can also attach the handle to the flashlight using scotch tape. The end result is a paper lightsaber!

Cut the light-blue and orange paper into two equal pieces. Cut a small circle from each piece of paper, making sure to fold it in half. Then, cut a larger square out of the paper to fit the lightsaber’s hole. You can also cut lines into the tape to make it easier to close. Use colored paper to make buttons and details. Glue them to the handle for extra detail.

The last fold in this project is called a squash fold. This fold essentially squashes the paper to fit the shape you need. However, it leaves extra paper sticking out. This extra paper must be folded behind Vader’s mask and breathing device in order to complete the look. This way, you will create a cleaner project. Chewbacca’s lightsaber

Make a holster for your light saber with black construction paper. You can decorate the holster with duct tape and black or brown crayon to add fur. A pair of googly eyes is a nice touch to finish the paper lightsaber. Use a black or brown crayon to draw on teeth and fur. For the holster flap, cut out a rectangle and glue it on the front of the holster.
