Before you can play Fallout 4 on PC with a controller, you must first switch the game controller to OFF. For the sake of this article, I’ll ignore any discussion of PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller or Retroflag pad. In fact, we’ll discuss the best way to switch the controller to OFF. However, if you use Steam, you can skip this step.

DualShock 4

Fallout is a great game to play on PC, and you can get the most out of it by using the DualShock 4. Featuring a directional pad, triggers, and an analog stick, the controller offers precision control. The controller also has a share button for live-streaming your gameplay. It also has a touch pad, an integrated light bar, and a 3.5mm audio jack, so you can easily connect it to your PC.

The DualShock 4 is available for purchase for $60. The price is about the same as the Xbox controller, but it does not come with a USB-C cord. Unlike the Xbox controller, the DualShock 4 can be recharged with a Micro-USB cable. The DualShock 4 is also very similar in feel to the Xbox controller, and is compatible with the majority of PC games.

X360ce

In order to play Fallout 4 on PC with X360CE controller, you must first download the game’s x360ce emulator. Then, you will need to choose a 32bit or 64bit version of the game. Note that if you choose a 32bit version of the game, x360ce will tell you, so you may want to choose a different one.

If you are using an Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller, you can connect them both to your PC and enjoy the game. This way, you can get all the features of a controller without having to spend any extra money. Fallout 4 also offers full PC controller support and reWASD, which allows you to customize the settings to suit your preferences. Depending on your preferences, you may need to make some additional adjustments to your controller settings to make them work properly.

PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller

If you’re looking for a way to play Fallout 4 on PC, you’ve probably already heard of the DualSense controller. This new wireless controller from Sony lets you control Fallout 4 on PC with your PlayStation 5’s dual analog sticks and motion-tracking technology. The DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and ergonomics are particularly impressive, and the controller comes in two versions. One is a standard version, which lacks an optical drive, while the other is the slim Digital Edition, which comes with a sleek, black and white design.

While the DualSense controller is not fully compatible with PC yet, it’s worth checking out anyway. The latest version of Steam has support for it, and you can connect the DualSense controller to your PC either by wire or Bluetooth. Once connected, you should see the DualSense controller listed under PlayStation 5 controllers, and Steam will automatically configure the keybinds to mimic the Xbox controller layout.

reWASD

A reWASD controller for Fallout 4 lets you play the game with the gamepad you already have. The app allows you to remap all the buttons of the controller, including Xbox, menu, View, and Elite paddles. This is a simple process and the app is free to download. All you have to do is press the controller button and select ‘Remap Controller’. In a few seconds, you will be playing with a controller that mimics the controls of your PC keyboard.

The reWASD joystick mapper lets you assign additional buttons to each analog control zone. When you press one of the assigned keys, the corresponding key reproduces. For example, you could map the common WASD on a stick to the high zone, so that pressing WASD at an endpoint would start your character running. You could also assign the Left Stick to the high zone, so that pressing WASD will start your character.
