Corrupted items can still be uncorrupted
It’s possible to cleanse corrupted items in PoE, but you must be careful! A corrupted item cannot be changed or uncorrupted again. Depending on the item, it might change or get changed in a completely unexpected way. If you’re in a temple, a corrupted item may get double-corrupted and you’ll lose it.
In the case of gems, you’ll need a Vaal Orb, a currency item obtained by defeating mobs, looting chests, and strongboxes. To corrupt a gem, right-click on the orb and select the gem you’d like to corrupt. You will have to be aware that the exchange rate changes periodically, so it’s best to check the rate before you start processing the item.
Corruption effects stack
While the Corruption effects stack in PoE, they don’t stack well with each other. If you are low corruption, the modifier will only activate a minor effect, while if you are medium corruption, your effect will activate with higher skill caps. If you are high corruption, the modifier is prohibitive, and rarely worth it. As a result, I wouldn’t recommend it. There are some disadvantages to this setup, and I will go over these in detail below.
Corruption is an item that represents the influence of N’Zoth, and has negative effects on the wearer. The effect triggers a series of drawbacks. The drawbacks of corruption are a work in progress, but they will be tuned in the future. For now, the following are some common examples:
Legendary cloaks increase Corruption resistance cap
It is possible to increase Corruption Resistance in Warcraft III by wearing a Legendary Cloak. Legendary Cloaks are equipped by level 15 players. To get a Legendary Cloak, players must kill N’Zoth on Mythic, Heroic, or Normal difficulty. The Corruption Resistance cap in this game is 125. If you’re just starting to play the game, you can catch up by purchasing a Malefic Core from the MOTHER. This will increase your Corruption Resistance cap by 3 points and let you get to rank 15 faster.
In addition to the legendary cloak, players should also consider buying Essences to boost their Corruption resistance. These items will give you 10 Corruption resistance and ten other beneficial effects. However, you must cleanse them after you equip them if you want to keep their bonus effect. If you’re unsure about whether to clean an item, you can use Mr. Robot’s Upgrade Finder tool to identify the item you want to cleanse.
Gems can be corrupted at the Altar of Corruption
In the Path of Exile, corrupting gems is a useful technique for improving the quality and strength of the gems that you’ve earned. You can corrupt a gem by using the Lapidary Lens, which can be found in the incursion room in Doryani’s Institute. To use the Lapidary Lens, you must upgrade the Department of Thaumaturgy, which is a sub-branched off of the Gemcutter’s Workshop. Using this method, you can corrupt gems twice, but the effects will not be the same.
When you corrupt gems at the Altar of Corruption in PoD, the resulting item will have a higher level of damage. The gems are not completely worthless, but they are still better than the non-corrupted counterpart. You can also use a Lapidary Lens to corrupt a gem twice if you’re feeling particularly adventurous. However, you should be careful not to use the Lapidary Lens if you’re concerned about destroying the gem twice – it will only add a single corrupted modifier.
Using a Vaal Orb to uncorrupt a gem
Using a Vaal Orb to corrupt a gem in PoE can help you increase the value of your items and increase the quality of your build at the same time. Vaal Orbs are a type of currency orb that you can acquire by killing mobs, looting chests, or from Strongboxes. You can corrupt gems using Vaal Orbs by right clicking on them and then choosing a gem you wish to corrupt. However, you should keep in mind that you cannot do this twice, as the exchange rate will change over time.
If you want to corrupt a gem without using a Vaal Orb, there are a few methods you can use. The Altar of Corruption, found in the Temple of Atzoatl and Locus of Corruption incursion rooms, allows you to corrupt a gem without using a Vaal Orb. Placing a gem in this altar will corrupt it by adding two corrupted modifiers and changing all of its sockets to white. Once you place the item on the altar, it will be destroyed, so this method is not recommended. The Lapidary Lens, which is found in Doryani’s Institute incursion room, can also corrupt a gem. However, this method will only work if the gem is not already corrupted.
