If you’ve been playing World of Warcraft for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed the new Artifact Weapon system. Whether you’re a high-level warrior or a low-level hunter, your Artifact Weapon will become a part of your character’s overall look and feel.
The benefits of Artifact Weapons are well worth the extra effort required to acquire them. The weapon is not destroyed, and it takes up a permanent bag slot. However, you can still use relics to increase the item level of your Artifact Weapon. Relics, much like the old meta gems, increase the Artifact Weapon’s item level. In return, the Artifact Weapon’s stats increase proportionally to the level of the relic.
Artifact weapons are the largest addition to Legion gear, and they will serve as your main weapon up until level 110. You can get these legendary items by completing a spec-specific quest. They are extremely powerful, and no other weapon in the game can compare to the power of an artifact weapon. They’re also highly customizable with Wowhead’s tools. Artifacts also offer many visual customization options and have their own questlines.
After leveling 102, you can begin pursuing your Artifact Weapon. You can choose from a wide variety of class-specific weapons, including the DPS Artifact Weapon. But, keep in mind that you can only use one artifact weapon at a time.
You can customize your Artifact Weapon to improve your skills. Artifact weapons can be enhanced with the use of Artifact Power, which is obtained by adventuring, completing quests, beating dungeon bosses, or winning PvP objectives. These items increase your character’s power, and you can unlock more traits as you progress. These traits are known as Artifact Traits, and they can be unlocked by spending Artifact Power.
