Are there hidden objectives in Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault? It would be nice to have a complete map of every level in the game, but how do I find these? Here are some tips for finding them:
Table of Contents
Defeat MG Nests on Ridge
To Defeat MG Nests on Ridge, use the Arao’s tommy gun. A squad from the leading platoon was sent to an enemy mg emplacement. The leader was injured by a grenade, so the leading scout tried to reorganize the squad. Instead, the squad hugged the ground and refused to move. Instead, the leading scout crawled toward the enemy mg emplacement alone and killed the gunner with a tommy gun. A second gun was killed by another grenade.
Defeat Enemy Soldiers in Trench
Throughout Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault, you’ll discover various rewards and challenges. Each of these rewards is linked to specific times in the game. You can earn up to two medals per mission. You will automatically receive one medal for completing the primary objective, and the second medal will be awarded if you complete any hidden objectives. Fortunately, you can check your medals from the Player Info section of the shell.
The first hidden objective has you destroy two Japanese submarines and eliminate the southern escaping convoy. You can also destroy enemy ships and destroy enemy anti-air guns with the Reising M55 and Type 100 submachine guns. The second objective requires you to destroy an enemy carrier with two torpedoes while avoiding a nearby ant hill. Despite its difficulty level, the missions are still fun to complete.
Rescue POW
There are two main ways to complete Mission 1 in Medal of Honor Pacific Assault: the first is to kill as many Japanese soldiers as possible, or you can save American POWs. Either way, you must survive the mission to earn a Legion of Merit. Luckily, this mission has a secret objective, which you can discover after you complete the first mission. The POW is located on the second level, to the left of the top set of stairs. During the mission, German guards will surround him, so you need to be vigilant and careful to prevent a POW from being killed.
The next step was to gather information about the Japanese soldiers’ locations. General Douglas MacArthur had departed the Philippines in March 1942, and he was replaced by Gen. Jonathan Wainwright. By May 1942, Japanese forces had dispersed all over the empire, and Americans feared they were ripe for execution. In an effort to protect these men, the U.S. Army deployed a team of Special Forces to Manchuria to rescue General Wainwright and other POWs.
Almost Dead Guy: Minoso
During the Battle of Tarawa, a Japanese patrol laid down by the Imperials is attempting to overtake the American base of Henderson. Minoso is caught off guard by the Japanese soldiers’ play of ‘possum’, and he loses consciousness. The Japanese encircle the US base and the US Marines, who are outnumbered and about to overrun Bloody Ridge, try to prevent this from happening. However, the Japanese have used Pack Howitzers and air attacks to halt the attack.
Players take on the role of Pvt. Thomas Conlin, a U.S. Marine who served in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. The game opens with Conlin on Tarawa, about to land. During the journey, Conlin’s voiceover comments on friends lost, and describes the new recruits as ‘three-week wonders.’ As a result, the game makes it seem like it’s a futile endeavor to take control of such a tiny patch of land.
