Cantrips scale up to every odd level? If so, they must stack with circumstance bonuses. If they don’t, they must be balanced by giving flanking bonuses. Here’s what you need to know. Listed below are some tips and tricks to use Cantrips properly. Read on to find out how they stack. But first, let’s clarify one important point: Cantrips don’t stack with dodge bonuses.

Cantrips scale at every odd-numbered level
Cantrips are spells that can be used by your character to increase their power and/or improve their defenses. They have a much higher priority in 2e than in 1e, and you should use them as often as possible. There are several ways to increase your cantrips’ power, including enhancing your defenses and using spell-like abilities. Below we’ll discuss some of the most common ones.
Cantrips grant flanking bonus
Flanking is a useful feat that grants a rogue a significant advantage in attack rolls. Among the benefits of flanking are: an advantage on attack rolls for two melee attackers. In addition, flanking can make every attack a critical hit when used in conjunction with an ally’s paralysis. Unfortunately, the bonus is only effective against melee opponents, and it does not work against undead.
The ability to grant flanking to allies isn’t a good idea unless you have a specific class feature. For example, a spellslinger with Animal Affinity is better at flanking than a Tribal Hunter. In most cases, Overwhelm is the most reliable flanking method against large foes. And if you want a higher flanking bonus on larger foes, a Tribal Hunter may be a better option.
However, one flaw of flanking is that it devalues other methods of gaining an advantage. In Pathfinder 2e, the opponent of a character with flanking is effectively at -2 to hit him from behind. Despite the obvious benefit, this bonus is shortsighted, as it devalues other tactics like a better ranged attack. By granting flanking, an archer can get an advantage in combat by hitting his enemies from behind, while a melee opponent suffers a -2 penalty.
Among the cantrips that grant a flanking bonus in Pathfinder 2e are Overwhelm and Dirty Fighting. Both these cantrips work together to provide a flanking bonus that is less than Barrage of Styles, but they are still a great way to boost a hero’s stats while in combat. However, while these cantrips grant a flanking bonus, they don’t have the same effect on the same-sized enemy.
