Platformer
Snoopy’s Grand Adventure is a straightforward platformer for younger children that features plenty of collectibles. It is short, but the levels are varied and offer enough twists and turns to keep you entertained. There are also some boss fights in which you must jump over objects to defeat them. Snoopy’s Grand Adventure is recommended for younger children, but isn’t hard enough for adults to get through.
The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, 3DS, and PC versions of The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure will be available on November 3, 2015 on all eight-generation systems. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will launch the same day. Nintendo’s Nintendo 3DS version will follow a few weeks later. If you are a fan of the cartoon, this game is sure to be a hit.
Costume changes
One of the key features of Snoopy’s Grand Adventure is the ability to change your character’s costume. Whether you’re trying to catch 300 jelly beans in a stage or complete the game with all the items you’ve collected, you can use your new costume to get to those tricky spots. That means more replayability and a small puzzle element for completionists. Costume changes add a cute aesthetic change as well as temporary abilities to your character.
Snoopy starts out as a regular dog, but later on, you can change his appearance to give him special powers. For example, in the jungle world, you can use a jump button to get higher platforms. Once you’ve gotten your first costume, you can unlock others. As you progress through the game, you can also choose different costumes that give him new abilities. For instance, in one stage, you can change Snoopy’s appearance to become an astronaut, a detective, or a flying ace. Each costume change has its own unique effects and will change the gameplay.
Boss battles
Several Boss battles are included in Snoopy’s Grand Adventure game. These battles are relatively easy to complete. They resemble various personality and physical traits of children. Players can see these traits in enemies throughout the game. These battles require little effort to complete and are a nice change of pace from platforming. Boss battles in Snoopy’s Grand Adventure Game should not put you off playing the game.
The controls of the game are simple. The Y button is used for selecting items and the B button is used for jumping and propelling Snoopy’s ears. The D-pad is also included to direct Snoopy’s movements. If you don’t have an Xbox One, this game is compatible with a Wii U. It has a good graphical presentation and is not difficult to play.
Camera movement
Snoopy’s Grand Adventure is a decent platformer. However, swimming in many levels feels like an unpleasant chore. Sometimes, the controls are not responsive enough for jumping, resulting in Snoopy floundering around. On one level, I encountered a glitch that forced me to float on a moon. The glitch was only intermittent, and did not affect the game’s overall play.
Unlike other games, camera movement in Snoopy’s Grand Adv. is fluid. The camera can be set up to follow Snoopy or follow him. It is a simple, intuitive platformer, and it takes after the style of Yoshi’s Woolly World and Kirby’s Epic Yarn. This game has great visuals and a fundamentally sound design.
Level design
The level design in Snoopy’s Grand Adventure Game is relatively simple, and is well-suited to the younger audience. The different levels are easily traversed and feature multiple paths and loops. There are enough wraparounds and unique environmental features to make the experience feel fresh and engaging. Although the level design isn’t very sophisticated, it’s enjoyable enough for children to play and will certainly keep them entertained for hours.
Throughout the game, Snoopy must find and rescue the neighborhood kids, Peppermint Patty and Charlie Brown, who are being abducted. The quest requires him to traverse various levels featuring different themed environments. To make things more challenging, he has to find Beagle Scouts hidden in the areas. As he finds these children, new areas become available. As he completes each level, he will collect costumes, which unlock new abilities and areas.
