The Han Solo prequel trilogy has been in the works since 2012, when George Lucas began developing the film. Lawrence Kasdan was tapped to write the screenplay, and later left Lucasfilm to his son Jonathan Kasdan, who completed it. Filming for the Han Solo prequel began in January 2017 at Pinewood Studios. The original directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, were fired from Lucasfilm in June 2017, and were replaced by Ron Howard.

Princess Leia’s hairstyle

Other influences of the hairstyle include nautilus shells, snakelike coils, and space mohawks.

George Lucas credited the hairstyle as an inspiration for the movie’s heroine. However, in an interview with TIME, the director took liberties with the original hairstyle, making it look more like a traditional style of the Hopi people. Although Leia’s buns were closer to her ears, they were left pinned throughout the movie. It’s possible that Lucas had in mind the hairstyle of a Hopi woman, as she is a descendant of the Hopi people.
