Captain Helane
What happens if you let Captain Helane die? When you complete the first quest in the game, you will be given the option to let a bad captain live or die. This is purely a moral choice, and it has no effect on the world of the game. It is up to you to decide whether to save the innocent or kill the bad captain. However, if you let Helane die, you’ll have to go through a lot of quest giving to get that chance.
Napoleon’s surrender
Napoleon lived on St Helena for his first few weeks of exile, in the Briar’s Pavilion, which is open to the public. Upon his arrival, he commented on his surroundings from the sea. Large crowds gathered to watch him land. Later, Napoleon remarked that it was objectionable to be stared at. He lived in the Briars Pavilion for two months, but then moved to Longwood House.
The occupants of Longwood were vital to the French party’s morale. At one point, Count Bertrand had already begun complaining to Cockburn, the new Governor, about the cramped quarters, lack of exercise, and lack of company. After two weeks, the Count had taken over the pavilion. Cockburn, the new governor, decided to transfer the custodial responsibility to him.
The British, who had been Napoleon’s greatest enemies, were also a constant threat to his life. Napoleon had described the British as his greatest, most generous, and most powerful enemy. When he surrendered, they were able to keep the French from attacking. If you allow him to live, the British would have been a much more formidable opponent. However, Napoleon was able to make a plan that allowed him to escape to America.
Capturing Lerisa’s ship
You must rescue three sailors from the Stros M’Kai, a group of orcs, before you can confront Captain Helane. It is not important whether you save the captain or not, because the outcome of this quest will not affect your game. However, it is better if you choose the latter option. If you save the captain, you will be rewarded with an optional quest, which will be explained later in this guide.
You can also kill Captain Helane and save Deregor from the bloody witch by using a Sea Drake disguise. You can then board the Bloody Witch and enter the storeroom to rescue Helane. If you choose the latter option, Lerisa will reward you with the Smuggler’s Vest and will also make bitter comments about the other ships. Alternatively, you can leave the captain alive and try to capture Lerisa’s ship. This way, you will receive 106 gold.
Crafty Lerisa is a character in the game. Her ship was captured by Sea Drakes and she needs your help to rescue her crew. She is skilled at brute force and can use a disguise to fool pirates. She is usually equipped with a sword and a dagger and is very adept at using the two to kill the pirates. Her crew consists of Crenard Dortene, Haerdon, and Mekag gro-Bug.
