In this arc, the Moonwatcher, a NightWing, is tasked with solving mysterious events while interacting with her new friends. Along the way, she is forced to team up with the NightWing dragon, Turtle. During the course of the book, the characters meet the dragons of the SandWing Queens.

His keen sense of perception has allowed him to prevent Jade Mountain from falling under Thunder, and he has even stopped the IceWing/NightWing war before it started. In Darkness of Dragons, Qibli was an Outclaw and was bullied by his siblings. The scar on his snout was left by his siblings when he was young.
