Character meet-and-greets
Walt Disney World has been hosting character meet-and-greets in recent months, but this newest attraction will add another character experience to the Disney World resort. During Extra Magic Hours, you can meet characters like Rey, Kylo Ren, and BB-8, as well as Chewbacca, the droid from the Star Wars films. However, you should expect long wait times for meet-and-greets. The park is also home to the Hollywood Brown Derby, a restaurant with table service. Restrooms are also located outside of the attraction.
The Launch Bay features a multi-sensory experience where fans can interact with their favorite Star Wars characters and view artifacts from the franchise. You can also buy Star Wars merchandise at this unique shop, including replicas of large-scale artifacts and treasured memorabilia. In addition to meet-and-greets with the characters, you can also meet Chip ‘n’ Dale and other Disney favorites. In the Animal Kingdom, you can meet the Exo-Carrier Utility Suit operating from Avatar. At the Hollywood Studios, you can also find Darth Vader, the Emperor of the Droid Empire, and the droid Snotty, a famous character from the Star Wars franchise.
Interactive exhibits
Star Wars Launch Bay is a walk-through exhibit that pays tribute to the entire Star Wars cinematic series. Guests can watch an introductory film that features snippets from interviews with Star Wars creators including Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, Rogue One director Gared Edwards, and Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams. In addition to showcasing original props from Episodes IV to VI, the exhibit also features replicas of various Star Wars vehicles and droids.
In addition to the rides, guests can meet characters like Chewbacca and Darth Vader. At the Launch Bay, guests can interact with the droids and purchase a photograph of the two.
