Location

In the video game Elden Ring, you will find the Great Enemy, Commander O’Neil. He is located in the Swamp of Aeonia in Caelid, and he will be waiting for you to face him. Attacks

The first phase of the boss fight is the Attacks of Commander O’Neil. This character will enrage when two of your knights die. Niall will then go into phase 2. During this phase, he will move very fast and chain devastating attacks, leaving you with little time to react and attack. Here are some tips to help you deal with Niall’s attacks:

His attack is a long horizontal strike, often followed by another one. If you’re using a melee build, it’s important to follow him at close range, as he will likely follow up with another strike. If you are at a distance, you can leap over this attack with a swift dash or circle. If your opponents avoid the attacks, you’ll be able to escape the encounter without being hit.

The next step in his attack is the Rotting Winds ability. This ability deals massive damage and builds up the Scarlet Rot effect, but it takes four seconds to be effective. This ability is very useful for escaping Commander O’Neil’s attacks if you’re riding a horse. A lot of players don’t use the Rotting Winds attack and end up getting hit.

Health

Health of the Commander O’Neil Elder Ring boss can be increased through various methods. The first option is to summon a strong spirit that can tank his attacks. Alternatively, you can use a group summon to draw out his spirits. If you’re playing against O’Neil, try approaching him from the south, where he will be unable to see you. Once you’re in range, you can use tree roots for a bit of extra advantage.

Regardless of how you approach the boss, make sure you get as close as possible to him. His big attack will leave him vulnerable for longer and he’ll be further away than normal. It’s important to note that this attack is not very common, so it won’t whittle down his health as quickly as you might like. When you’re down to one third health, you can still get some hits off him while he summons more troops. Look for axe-wielding soldiers who will be able to do the same.

Scarlet Rot

Known as the Great Enemy, Commander O’Neil is a monster found in the swamps of Aoenia. When he attacks, he spins his weapon in large circular motions, which causes the surrounding area to be covered in scarlet rot. Anyone who is hit by this effect will die almost instantly. When you fight him, you must stay close to avoid being hit by this dreadful disease.

The first time you encounter this monster, you’ll want to make sure you are on a map. You’ll need to travel to the area where he’s located. You can find him by searching for “Scarlet Rot.” Be careful though, he’s similar to Niall and will pose a difficult challenge for solo players.
