Have you ever visited a neighborhood that looks completely deserted? If so, you should. World of Warcraft offers countless opportunities to explore different parts of the game. Here are some places you might want to check out: Tyr’s Hand, Hearthglen, and the Vashj’ir sub-oceanic playground. But where can you find abandoned houses in World of Warcraft? Here are some places to consider when searching for abandoned houses.

Karazhan

If you’re a World of Warcraft player, you’ve probably noticed the Karazhan area. Its abandoned houses make for some interesting questing. First, you can find food and drinks in this area. All food and drinks are respawned after five minutes and twenty seconds, and there are four different items per item. That means there are 20 different items in the Karazhan Dungeon. These items are not the usual ones, so you’ll need a group of at least five players to complete the Karazhan Megadungeon. You may want to keep this in mind when choosing where to buy the food in this area, as you might find yourself eating out of curiosity.

There are also rumors of an upside-down Karazhan, which is supposedly located deep underground. The last book by Jeff Grubb describes the last few weeks of living activity in this area. Lower Karazhan is largely the same as the above-ground areas. The bottom floor is where Medivh’s secret chambers are. The only difference is the location of the unquiet dead.

Tyr’s Hand

The non-instanced area of the same region, Tyr’s Hand in World of Warcraft, was once believed to be abandoned by the Scarlet Onslaught, or the Scourge. While this is no longer the case, there is still a strong Scarlet presence. Every Scarlet Crusader in this area has become an undead creature, and the Brotherhood of the Light is seeking adventurers to take over the town. The Argent Crusade controls this region, but players should still keep in mind that they need a Farming Partner to complete this quest.

The Holy City of the Church of the Light is located in Tyr’s Hand. The Scarlet Basilica is the Crusade’s command center, and the Scarlet Monastery is an enormous edifice. The city was once a strategic location, and even after High General Abbendis’ death, it continued to serve as a Crusade headquarters. The city also houses a blacksmith and has its own temple.

Hearthglen

Located in the Western Plaguelands, Hearthglen is a beautiful town. This abandoned house has a rich history, including Tirion Fordring, Mardenholde Keep, and the Order of the Silver Hand. It is currently a training ground for the Argent Crusade, and can be reached by traveling to 48, 21. For those new to World of Warcraft, Hearthglen is a great place to start your character’s adventure.

Tirion Fordring, a high-ranking Paladin and Lord of Hearthglen, is a former Alliance ruler. When he was in charge of the country, the population was thriving and prosperous. The city’s great keep, Mardenholde, was the hub of trade and commerce, and Tirion Fordring took pride in the walls of his town. However, he was disgruntled to see the Orcs scurrying through his halls. He was convinced that the dignitaries were carrying news about the Alliance’s dire situation.

Vashj’ir sub-oceanic playground

The underwater playground of Vashj’ir first appeared in the Cataclysm expansion and is the first of its kind in the game. The area is divided into three zones and is bursting with underwater wonders. Some of the highlights of the Vashj’ir subzone include the abyssal vortex and tons of Azshara’s Veil.

The underwater controls are somewhat disorienting, but once you get used to it, you will find it a neat touch. The underwater mount can also fly you long distances, but it is only useful in Vashj’ir. The underwater mount is recolorable, but it doesn’t move nearly as fast as the Vashj’ir Seahorse.

The atmosphere of the Vashj’ir sub-oceanic playground is the best part of this sub-oceanic region of World of Warcraft. The setting is completely alien, and the art design is cohesive and well-done by Blizzard. The deep seas and the insurmountable danger that lays beneath it are perfectly captured. Atmosphere is key to getting lost in an MMO.
