Why Are Star Wars Fans So Whiny?

Many Star Wars fans are terribly negative because the movies don’t meet their expectations. It’s all the way from review-bombing to hate speech. But it’s important to understand that most of this negativity isn’t caused by bad filmmaking, but by their own personal taste. It’s a result of a complex fandom, and one that needs to be tempered.

TLJ is the 9th highest rated Sci Fi movie in history

Star Wars: The Last Jedi pays tribute to the Prequels, which were a massively influential part of the Star Wars universe. While the Prequels showed the rise and fall of the Jedi Order, The Last Jedi portrays the same failure in the form of hubris. In the prequels, Snoke is a big bad, but in TLJ, he’s killed off. The movie then re-introduces the Emperor Palpatine as the villain, but only until the climactic scene.

It grossed less than Spider-Man

The first Spider-Man movie opened with $114 million worldwide, the highest opening weekend ever. It is the first superhero movie to earn more than $100 million domestically. It went on to gross $403 million domestically and $821 million worldwide, making it Sony’s best opening weekend in 16 years. It also launched a new era of superhero movies. In the last two years, the series has surpassed Star Wars in both domestic and worldwide box office.

This weekend, Spider-Man: No Way Home became the first superhero film to break the $1 billion mark in North America. The film surpassed “No Time to Die,” the final Bond film from Daniel Craig. It took more than double the amount that Bond’s final outing had earned in a single weekend, making it the fastest superhero movie to cross the $1 billion mark. After this film’s first weekend, only “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Avengers: Infinity War” have come close to Spider-Man’s achievement.

It has more CGI than Spider-Man

Star Wars has more CGI than Spider-Man, but which film is better? This comparison is particularly important because Star Wars is a science fiction film, and Spider-Man is a superhero movie. Both movies use digital effects and CGI to make the world look like it did in the comics. Spider-Man 3 has more CGI than Star Wars, but there are some noticeable differences between them.

Firstly, film is a much more dense medium and it records a great deal of information. Digitally, you can only make up individual pieces of information, and it is much harder to create that same verisimilitude in Spider-Man. While Star Wars uses a high percentage of computer generated imagery (CGI), Spider-Man is an example of the best of its kind. The movie also has superior special effects, and was nominated for an Academy Award.

It is a sci-fi series

There has long been a whining tradition among sci-fi fans, “Star Wars isn’t good enough” or “I’m not ready for a new film yet,” but that has been changing recently. The franchise has expanded into comic books, video games, and expanded universe books. And it has managed to keep the tone of the original trilogy.

While some Star Wars fans complain that it is too dark and boring, they have an even stronger argument. The series is a modern mythic adventure, centered around the adventures of Luke Skywalker and the struggle between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. The Empire is a corrupted power structure made up of a small group of leaders who abuse their power and repress the people, destroying the spirit of rebellion.

It is a tradition

Many people may not realize that there are nine sequels in the Star Wars saga, and that some are already done. Star Wars was originally intended to have three trilogies, with the first movie releasing in 1977. There were many revisions made to the original story over the years, and there are currently six films, including the upcoming Rise of Skywalker. But the fandom doesn’t want to give up just yet. Here’s what’s new in Episode VII.

The most controversial character was General Leia Organa. She was an old comrade in arms to Princess Leia, and she fought against her scheming droid masters. Her character arc focuses on learning that her heroism comes at a cost, and she often sacrifices her life to protect her friends. Meanwhile, her son, Holdo, is a new character, and his character arc is more satisfying when he decides to rebel against Leia.

It is an escape

Why do Star Wars fans complain about the prequels? Is this a reaction to the recent election results? Or is this just a simple case of “fans whining because it is an escape?” If you are like me, you probably don’t understand Star Wars and its nuances. But you also appreciate the messages of hope that it conveys. For many of us, Star Wars is a great escape from a troubling reality.
