Why Did Disney Ruin Star Wars?

Why did Disney ruin Star Wars? There are many factors that play a part, including the fact that characters are only there to sell toys. The characters were created only to be marketed, George Lucas’ disapproval, Abrams’ mystery boxes, and the infamous death of Supreme Leader Snoke by Johnson. But in the end, what is most likely the culprit is a combination of these factors. Whether it was Disney’s choice to ruin the Star Wars franchise or not, the reasons for this gaffe can’t be pinned down, but they certainly did ruin it for the fans.

Characters exist only to sell toys

The question that arises is whether Star Wars characters exist only to sell toys, or whether they are the real thing. There are numerous arguments for both sides, but ultimately the question remains a matter of taste. Star Wars has always been a popular franchise, but there is something about its characters that transcends all the traditional ideas of purity and wholesomeness. In the case of the movie, for instance, Star Wars is a genuinely silly pulp that inspires unending obsession and adulation. While plastic action figures are a ubiquitous staple of Star Wars fandom, they are not the only kind of toys that are sold. There are smaller, animatronic and plush versions of many of these characters, including Baby Yoda. These toys have recently topped lists of Hot Toys for 2020.

George Lucas’s disapproval

George Lucas’s disapproval of Disney’s efforts to make sequels to Star Wars was never clear. He had sold his company and intellectual properties to Disney, which was not obligated to use his story treatments for sequels. Disney did not use his story treatments, and Lucas was less than pleased with the finished product. He had spent 40 years developing the classic story, and now it was being finished by someone else.

Abrams’ mystery boxes

J.J. Abrams has made a career out of rebooting beloved sci-fi series. Sadly, he didn’t apply that same formula to Star Wars. This is because J.J. Abrams never brought up the idea of bringing up answers to the mystery boxes during the pre-production process. The result is a movie that lacks the mystery and wonder that fans crave.

Johnson’s killing of Supreme Leader Snoke

After the shocking death of the Supreme Leader in the last installment, many fans have wondered if Rian Johnson has ruined Star Wars. However, the actor behind the role is standing by his decision. We may not have seen the last of the ominous villain, but we certainly know how horribly Johnson killed him in Episode VII. And the good news is that we will not have to wait another two years for his return in the next installment.

Johnson’s snarky Jedi Master Luke Skywalker

If you loved the original films, you might hate how Johnson’s snarky Jedi master completely ruined Star Wars. The film is so bad, in fact, that fans have demanded the immediate resignation of Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm. But Kennedy didn’t go anywhere. Despite fan outrage, Kathleen Kennedy has stuck by her decision. Here are some things that you should know about the latest Star Wars film.

Boba Fett’s jetpack malfunctioning in Episode II: Attack of the Clones

One of the many mysteries in the Star Wars universe is how the bounty hunter Boba Fett’s jetpack malfunctions in Episode II: Attack of the Clones. While the original trilogy only gives us four lines of dialogue, this bounty hunter has become a global cultural icon and fan favorite. As the bounty hunter who captured and delivered Han Solo to the Sith Lord Darth Vader, Boba Fett has been an intriguing character throughout the Star Wars canon.

Boba Fett’s death in Episode VII: The Last Jedi

Boba Fett’s introduction in Return of the Jedi was very promising, but his “death” in Episode VII: The Last Jedi was a slap in the face. Han Solo accidentally knocked him off a raft and into a Sarlacc maw, where he eventually dies. I don’t believe Boba Fett was dead when the movie ended, but he did appear in the Star Wars universe after his death.

Supreme Leader Snoke’s fascimile of Emperor Palpatine

One of the most controversial characters in the Star Wars films is Supreme Leader Snoke, a force-sensitive genetic strandcast male who ruled as the Supreme Führer of the First Order in the New Republic Era. While his body held no use for the restoration of Sidious, he still retained his own mind despite his creator’s influence from afar. Some fans, however, say that Snoke is nothing more than a weak clone of the Emperor.
