As the third and most likely final expansion for World of Warcraft, the World of Cataclysm is about to be released. The box art for the expansion is following the colour theme that is prevalent throughout the game. While the original World of Warcraft box art featured a brown-hued demon, the box art for the Burning Crusade and Lich King had blue and green hues. The new World of Cataclysm box art features a fiery red demon as the protagonist, and the background is a massive, detailed, high-resolution image.

The alleged leak of World of Warcraft Dragonflight box art corroborates the rumor that the expansion is dragon-themed. This key art was discovered just an hour before the leaked source code was published on Blizzard’s website. Interestingly, both pieces feature the same character, Alexstrasza of the Red Flight, in a new outfit. The art also shows Alexstrasza in her draconic form. The leaked box art is in the form of posters, so we won’t have to wait long for the official release.
Cataclysm
The third and arguably final expansion for World of Warcraft is a great time for fans to download new box art. The Cataclysm box art continues to follow the game’s dominant colour theme. In previous expansions, box art was either blue or green and featured the Lich King. This time, the box art features a fiery red demon. There’s an extensive range of box art to download, with high resolution images that will surely make you feel like you’re in the game.
The World of Warcraft Cataclyssm Collector’s Edition has tons of extras, including the art book featuring never-before-seen images. This DVD also includes a ten-day pass for both World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2. You’ll also get a cataclysm mouse pad, which features WoW art on foam. I’m not a big fan of mouse pads, but this one has a great look.
Mists of Pandaria
A user on Reddit has revealed the official box art for the fourth World of Warcraft expansion, Mists of Pandaria. While the box art isn’t revealing much in terms of gameplay, it’s still an interesting peek at what’s inside. As a former addict, Matt can’t wait to get his hands on the +4 belt and make another trip to Azeroth.
The game’s plot begins with a new chapter in the conflict between the Alliance and Horde. The Horde’s Warchief Garrosh Hellscream dispatches elite troops to hunt down the Divine Bell, an ancient mogu artifact that endows soldiers with unimaginable power. The actions of Garrosh led to dire consequences for the Horde, as the trolls of Darkspear are expelled from Dalaran and blood elves are forced to flee. Garrosh’s actions were also tracked by Prince Anduin Wrynn, who had been tracking his every move.
