Changes to raiding system
The announcement of the changes to World of Warcraft’s raiding system comes from a ‘blue post’ on the official WoW forums. The changes are quite significant and will affect both dungeon content and PvP points. Let’s take a look at what’s going to happen. For instance, the raiding system for 25-man and 10-man instances will both be combined. While this may sound like a good thing, some of the changes might not be immediately noticeable.
The raiding system in World of Warcraft has changed quite a bit since its launch. Initially, there were two formal raid zones: Onyxia’s Lair and Molten Core. The maximum group size was forty players and they were more difficult to complete. Leveling was also slower, and the primary goal of most players was to level up to the max. However, the changes to the raiding system in Cataclysm have made raiding easier.
New dungeons
The Blackrock Caverns, the new dungeon and raid in World of Warcraft Cataclysm, are set beneath the mighty mountain known as Blackrock. Originally created by Deathwing, this region is filled with powerful elementals, Twilight Hammer warriors, and corrupted Earthen. The new dungeon and raid will test players’ endurance, as the player must survive for at least four hours to reach the end.
The Lost City of Tol’Vir: The Lost City of Tol’Vir is located in Uldum, while the Halls of Origination are located on the Eastern Face of the Halls of Origination pyramid. All other Level 85 WoW dungeons are located in their original locations. In this article series, I’ll discuss the new dungeons and raids found in the Cataclysm expansion pack.
Cataclysm: New dungeons bring fresh challenges and rewards for players. The new dungeons also allow players to earn Guild Achievements, which are directly tied to the dungeons’ difficulty. Aside from new dungeons, the expansion also introduces new bands and heroic dungeons. It is expected that more people will be able to participate in the raids in Cataclysm because there is more content.
New bosses
Blackrock Mountain is making a welcome return in World of Warcraft Cataclyasm with new dungeons and raids. The dungeons, which are linked to the Twilight Highlands, will feature the return of the Deathwing and the resurrected children of Deathwing. In addition to the new dungeons, players can expect a new set of classic dungeon bosses.
The addition of new bosses in the Cataclysm raid means more variety for casual players. The first few weeks of the expansion had the same four bosses, and players with little time to raid were left with four sets of loot. If a player has limited time to spend on World of Warcraft, it is possible to run Raid 1 once a week and move on to Raid 2 for new bosses. Likewise, if a player has the time, they can run Raid 3 for even more variety and fresh encounters.
The second expansion set will introduce more new bosses. For instance, the first instance of the Cataclysm raid is called the Deadmines. This instance was released six years ago, and was the first instance that Alliance players would face before reaching level 20. While it remains the same in terms of location, the Defias Brotherhood has changed most of its staff, with the exception of Captain Cookie, who now rules the Normal version of the raid. Meanwhile, Vanessa VanCleef is the new ruler of the Heroic version of the same instance.
Loot changes
Blizzard has announced the new World of Warcraft Cataclysm raid standards. These changes include combined loot tables, new raid lockouts, and the continuation of gated content. The changes to raid loot also give guilds of 10 players the ability to participate in raiding without feeling left out. While the same amount of gear is dropped from 25-man raids, a 10-man raid can earn players the same level of gear as a 25-man raid.
Heroic raid loot is also getting a makeover. Raids on Mythic and Heroic difficulty will award upgrade item shards as loot. You can also purchase the base item by completing normal or heroic raids. Luckily, Blizzard has also made the changes to the dungeons easier to navigate. The Sunken Temple and Wailing Caverns will lose the lower floor.
