Steelbound Harness
To summon the fel core hound mount, Steelbound Devourer, you must obtain the Steelbound Harness. This mount requires the strongest chains and forged bones. However, it can be crafted. The crafting recipe for the Steelbound Harness is given by Tichondrius, a boss in the Felgorn Forest. You must have at least level 50 in Blacksmithing to obtain this mount.
You can also craft a steelbound harness for the Core Hound mount using the blacksmithing profession. Blacksmiths can make Demonsteel Stirrups, Emperial Breastplate, and Rethu’s Incessant Courage for it. Alchemists can make a Potion of Prolonged Power by transmuting Cloth to Skins and Meat to Pet. You can also use Alchemy reagents to craft items like Cloth or Fur.
To craft the Steelbound Harness, you must have at least 800 leather working in the corresponding class. You must also have the skill level to craft the Elderhorn Riding Harness. This mount has a Mist effect above it, so make sure you use this harness to keep your mount in your inventory. It is Bind on Pickup. However, beware that this mount is not yet available on the AH.
Ancient Core Hound
The World of Warcraft Ancient Core Hound mount is an incredibly unique and beautiful animal. This mount can be obtained by defeating Ragnaros in the special 40-player Raid Finder version of the Molten Core. This mount also has the unique ability to time travel. If you have completed the storyline, then this mount is well worth the wait. You’ll need to collect at least 5000 time-warped badges to obtain it.
While the mount itself is a very unique looking beast, it’s not the most challenging. AoE damage is ideal for meter boosting. In addition, you can deal damage to both living and dead hounds. However, you’ll need to be very fast when using this mount. There’s a good chance that it’ll respawn with full health. This is especially important if you’re trying to kill the first boss Lucifron.
Steelbound Devourer
To obtain a Steelbound Devourer, you must gather Felhide in the Gargantuan world quest or by taking the Infernal Brimstone quest. If you can’t gather Felhide, you can craft a Steelbound Harness, which is sold in the Auction House. If you can’t craft a Steelbound Harness, you can trade for one at Dalaran, which is a city in the northwestern part of the World of Warcraft.
To craft a Steelbound Devourer mount, you must be at least level 70 in Blacksmithing. A level 75 Blacksmith will drop a recipe for Steelbound Harness. A quest chain for Blacksmithing will teach you how to craft the mount. The questline requires you to kill Tychondrius in The Nighthold. This mount can be acquired on the auction house, but it’s not a BoP item.
The new mount is a rare version of the legendary steelbound hound. While this mount is lootable in the World of Warcraft trade market, it’s difficult to find, and you may have to wait until the next expansion to find it. You can also get a rare version of this mount from the Fire of Outland TCG. The mount’s soul isn’t bound until you use it, so make sure you have the appropriate item slots in your inventory for it.
