A holy priest is a basic healing build in World of Warcraft, but there are some alternatives that will give you an edge. These options include Circle of Healing, Inspiration, Guardian Spirit, and the new system of chakras and Relevations. Ignore Blessed Resilience, as it seems to be mostly useful in PvP. Instead, opt for Lightwell, 1/3 Darkness, and 1 point free. Below is an example of a holy priest build that I recommend.
Table of Contents
Power Infusion spell
One of the best ways to improve your Priest’s damage is to add a Power Infusion spell. This is a good choice for many reasons, not the least of which is its high DPS. When compared to other spells, Power Infusion has a much longer cooldown and is an excellent choice for PvE. In addition, this spell stacks with the shaman’s Restoration Spec.
If you are using a melee class to PvE, you should look into a healer. A priest with the Spirit bonus has a very strong PvP build, as the 3% Spirit bonus is always with them. Racials with Frost and Nature resistance are not as strong, but their Gift of the Naaru buff is extremely useful. Dwarves have Stoneform, and can also be a good choice for group members.
Silent Resolve
One of the best ways to boost your healer is by using Silent Resolve. This World of Warcraft Priest talent makes it more difficult for enemies to damage you, reducing your threat. In addition, Silent Resolve reduces the threat that Shadow Spells cause. However, this Priest talent also reduces the threat from Mind Blasts. This build is a great choice for PvE and PvP.
One of the biggest complaints of Shadow Priests is that they run out of mana easily. This build tries to offset that by securing Talents such as Spirit Tap and Wand Specialization. While these two talents may be weak in PvP, they are great in 5-man dungeons. And for those times when your mana is running low, you can also use Wand Specialization.
Glyph of Divine Accuracy
If you are looking for a great glyph to add to your priest build, consider purchasing Glyph of Divine Accuracy. This item increases your hit and saves mana by 30%. This item also increases the duration of Shadow Protection and gives you an extra ten minutes of cooldown on your spells. This item is also highly customizable, allowing you to choose whichever attributes best suit your playstyle.
Holy Fire: The smite effect has changed since the release of World of Warcraft. By equipping this glyph, you will be able to cast Holy Fire more often and increase your chance of hitting. Holy Fire also heals, so using this glyph will help you avoid missing your shots. However, it will require a reagent in order to remove the effect.
Tools of the Cloth
In World of Warcraft, the Priest is a DPS class with two healing spec options. Fortunately, the Priest also has a DPS spec option. While choosing a talent tree, it’s important to remember that the first talent tree contains core abilities for all classes. Unlike other classes, Priests will get a chance to use two of these spec abilities. This makes choosing a talent tree a bit easier.
While choosing a toolset, make sure to prioritize the ability that is most beneficial for your build. You don’t want to waste any spells just because you didn’t choose the right one. Instead, you want to prioritize Shadow damage and wands as much as possible. That way, you’ll have a lot of power to do damage with little to no effort. If you’re not using all the abilities in your toolkit, you’ll be left at a disadvantage when you need it most.
Holy Nova
In World of Warcraft, a Priest can maximize her damage and healing potential by using her main skills and talents. Using Holy Nova as a world of warcraft priest build is a great way to maximize your damage and heal allies at once. This ability increases your healing and damage by about 20%. It also has a cooldown of around two minutes, but has a 6% chance to not consume a charge when jumping to a new target.
Using Holy Nova as a world of warcraft Priest build is a great way to take on tougher mobs in dungeons. While traditional priests emphasize mana efficiency, the Holy Nova builds emphasis on efficiency. This means a Holy Nova priest can kill a bunch of mobs at once, and can then pause for about 30 seconds to heal. The reflection of 600 dmg from Holy Novas is also an excellent way to kill mobs that have high hp.
Shadow Crash
The Shadow Crash spell, which is one of my favorites, fires a burst of shadow energy. This spell deals AoE damage to all nearby targets, and it generates 20 Insanity when cast. I generally use this spell during AoE engagements or when gearing up. If I’m not using it, I would skip it. Here’s why:
The main stat of the Shadow Priest is intellect, and increasing it will improve performance in raids and Mythic+ dungeons. Other important stats are Haste, Critical Strike chance, and Versatility. Though the lower stats won’t make a huge difference in your DPS, the higher item level, the better. This World of Warcraft priest build will help you achieve the best balance between DPS and Insanity generation.
