World of Warcraft Third War Guide – Arthas, Sylvanas, Zul’Gurub, Jaina Proudmoore and More

This guide will cover the important events and plot lines of the World of Warcraft third expansion. In this guide, you’ll discover Arthas’s mission, Sylvanas’s rise to power, the Corrupted blood plague in Zul’Gurub, and the relationship between Arthas and Jaina Proudmoore. We’ll also cover the new quest line in the expansion. So, what’s so exciting about the third expansion?

Arthas’ mission

Arthas is the Undead Death Knight, and his main mission in World of Warcraft is to bring back Kel’Thuzad, the dead god of chaos. He receives this mission from Tichondrius, the leader of the dreadlords, after Kel’Thuzad is killed. After Kel’Thuzad’s corpse is exhumed, Arthas kills Uther the Lightbringer, who is after his father’s urn. Afterward, he travels to Quel’Thalas, and corrupts the Sunwell.

In his quest to cleanse the city of Kel’Thuzad, Arthas must summon immense power to complete his mission. He must also locate a magical font called Quel’Thalas, which contains a spell that opens a portal to the Burning Legion. Arthas killed his father and left the life of a Paladin. In order to defeat the Scourge, he must use his immense power.

Sylvanas’s rise to power

The rise of Sylvanas in World of Warcraft third-war history is a complex story of ambition and a dark-side philosophy. In a previous article, we discussed how Sylvanas’s rise to power came about, and we also talked about the impact of her pact with the Val’kyr. After the pact, Sylvanas returned to the realm of the living surrounded by eight Val’kyr.

While the game has been plagued by a plethora of character deaths, Sylvanas has emerged as one of the game’s most recognizable figures. The game’s sequel, Battle for Azeroth, introduced the new character Sylvanas. He also plays an important role in the Shadowlands. While he may not be the most beloved character in the game, his rise to power was a welcome change from the past.

Before her rise to power in World of Warcraft, Sylvanas was a high-level elf from Silvermoon. Her sister Alleria fought under her command, but Arthas Menethil killed her and took her soul. In the aftermath, Sylvanas was reborn as a monstroshee. The Forsaken were a powerful army, and her rise to power only cemented her position in the realm.

Corrupted blood plague in Zul’Gurub

Zul’Gurub was the first high-level raid area in World of Warcraft, and it featured Hakkar the Soulflayer, a massive winged serpent with the “Corrupted Blood” power. Hakkar sucked away the hit points of players, and the only way to cure it was to kill him. Luckily, Hakkar wasn’t the only boss to be affected by the “Corrupted Blood” plague.

When the Zul’Gurub raid went live, developers decided to introduce the “Corrupted Blood” mechanic. The effect caused players to take a considerable amount of damage, as their health was typically 5000. The Corrupted Blood debuff would also spread to nearby allies, including pets. In fact, some players would dismiss their pets as unlucky, but the effect was disastrous.

The corrupted blood plague resembles real-world epidemics, and has been compared to terrorism. In fact, Blizzard attempted to recreate the effect with the zombie plague that greeted the release of the game’s second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. It was one of the first times that WoW’s world of Azeroth had a life of its own.

Arthas’s relationship with Jaina Proudmoore

The conflict between Arthas and Jaina Proudmoore is a deeply emotional one. The two were once close, but in the third war, Arthas’s relationship with Jaina changed significantly. Jaina had to make a difficult decision between her father and new allies, and she was torn between loyalty and hatred. In the aftermath, she had to decide whether to fight with Thrall or the Horde.

While Arthas was busy preparing to rule Lordaeron, Jaina kept her interest in him secret. Arthas was spooked by the responsibilities that came with the role of king and father. The relationship lasted only a few months before it ended abruptly, but it was enough to make Jaina question Arthas’s true intentions. She later realized that Arthas was no longer the man she loved.
