Gameplay
The story in Tales of Xillia is set a year after the events of the previous game. Ludger Kresnik is a young man with a passion for cooking, who lives with his older brother and his cat Rollo. One day, he runs into a mysterious woman named Elle Marta. Despite having an incredible talent for cooking, she turns out to be an evil witch and causes an accident.
In addition to its incredibly detailed story, Xillia’s gameplay is based on a skill tree system that allows you to customize each character to suit your playstyle. This system gives you priority stats and dozens of new combat skills, so you can build the perfect party to suit your playstyle. The game is also full of audio, which not only fills out the atmosphere of local environments, but also declares which abilities the characters are using.
Character design
In Tales of Xillia, the characters have distinct personalities. Each one has their own strengths and weaknesses, and the overall game’s story revolves around these differences. The first installment introduces the character Jude Mathis, a martial arts expert who later becomes a spyrite researcher in Elympios. Kosuke Fujishima created his character to start out timid, but grow into a confident leader by the game’s end. The visual style in Tales of Xillia is unique, and it emphasizes contrasts between light and shadow. DR-LMBS battle system
